Has Mission Impossible series overtaken James Bond as the superior Spy Action series ?

Even though James Bond is defintely the more iconic character and the series overall is definitely more popular and successful.

 

But if we are talking about quality of action sequences, storyline progression and visuals overall, Mission Impossible has definitely been better than the last 4-5 James bond movies overall and Ethan Hunt can kick James Bond's ass any time of the day.

 

Mission Impossible is the only true action series left imo.

 

What do you guys think ?

I think I agree with the fact that Mission Impossible is better, but James Bond is more iconic and is very well-loved by people from all agres, given the fact that the first one was so many years ago...

neither is "good." but mission impossible tends to be very try-hard where classic bond is extremely camp.

Neither is that great, but mission impossible at least makes for fun if very forgettable action movies, whilst modern James Bond movies just take themselves too seriously to the point of being boring at times.

 

Personally I think classic Bond is the best, but when comparing releases in recent years I would have to go with mission impossible.

I saw the recent one and I like it better the bonds series.

 

I honestly thought Henry Cavill was going to take the mantle from Cruise but thats not what happened. My God though he was so fucking hot.
