Mandilinn 7,814 Posted May 21, 2014 Share Posted May 21, 2014 With a simple tweet bearing only the phrase "SPYAIR wo yamemasu" (I am resigning from SPYAIR), vocalist IKE had sent shockwaves across SPYAIR's fandom. The tweet was posted early morning today (May 21st) and just barely 2 hours later has garnered more than 30,000 retweets. In fact, both his tweet "ＳＰＹＡＩＲを辞ã‚ã¾ ã™ï¼" and "IKEã•ã‚“" (Ike-san) are trending in Japan currently. IKE did not follow up the tweet with an explanation and was not replying to the numerous queries tweeted back at him. At the time of this writing, neither any of the other members nor the band's staff have addressed the matter. The @SPYAIRSTAFF Twitter account's last tweet was about the band's live at Hiroshima Club Quattro while both MOMIKEN (B) and UZ's (G) last tweets were since yesterday. KENTA (D) hasn't tweeted anything since May 18. The band's OHP is likewise mum on the matter. It can be recalled that early May, SPYAIR had to postpone several gigs in light of IKE's bronchitis treatment. No word yet whether this has anything to do with this sudden retirement.
