While Sunmi's vocals are pretty good, she was constantly overshadowed by the Sunye and Yeeun. Dancer? Not much of a dancer, she was rather awkward. Personality? She had that funny 4D charm that people loved, but she didn't have much variety skills, and again, she was (still is, I presume) awkward. If you asked back then, people wouldn't have thought she would be the one to debut as a solo first (a successful one, at that). It wasn't that she wasn't talented, in fact, if you listen to WG's discography, she has really nice vocals - but she didn't really shine. So. But WG hadn't quite 'developed' themselves before she left. She only had an EP with them and was a WG member for a mere few months, before they got big with Tell Me. So she's less of a WG than Sunmi, who was there for three years (and still live with them now), including the time when WG peaked. People don't really associate HyunA with WG and fans always refer to the girls as "the SIX wonders", the girls themselves too always mention six members, not seven.
