I'm so excited I feel the same way as when Answer was released ahmagahplz.png but seriously, his work ethic...he's had the busiest period ever, shouldering much of their US/UK promo and somehow still had time to finish his music and plan for a release. I'm so in awe of him. rlytearpls.png

I'm so excited I feel the same way as when Answer was released ahmagahplz.png but seriously, his work ethic...he's had the busiest period ever, shouldering much of their US/UK promo and somehow still had time to finish his music and plan for a release. I'm so in awe of him. rlytearpls.png

 

Seriously - he's so inspirational. I thought I had it hard - being busy for the past few weeks - so I've been slacking off on the things I am supposed to do with excuse of being busy. Then I look at him and I am like, okay, I will work harder rlytearpls.png .

Have to play all the songs a couple times to give my detailed thoughts, but upon first listening the songs stood out to me are:

 

Tokyo - is this all English? And those Asian influenced instrumentals I LOVE

Seoul - his demo that he showed us few months back makes an appearance!

Everything - this song is EVERYTHING. I almost cried listening to this.

Forever Rain - I think this song is the most polished out of all

Feels really good listening to a full album by RM again. Moonchild is a queen but the whole thing is fucking amazing. I'm just a little mad they made Forever Rain a single and didn't give us a live-action MV for it. That's the only sour part of this release. Well, and the fact that bighit isn't charging what they should for it and there's no physical copies. Can you imagine mono on vinyl?? ugh

This is a historic day, mono is the gift that keeps giving, I haven't stopped listening to it since release

 

and the song he teased back in March ended up being 'Seoul' 

this feels like a full circle moment lol

Ok so i was waiting for Muish to read the lyrics but then I read them anyway and.....

 

 

this album is totally about a failed relationship/attempt to save a relationship.

 

It starts in Tokyo, where he's yearning for someone.

Then back to Seoul, lamenting how he wants to leave the city but can't bc it had a hold on him. It's a good place to live if you can afford it aka the relationship is worth it if they're willing to pay the price.

Then Moonchild is all about being children of the darkness aka not being able to come out in the day - a hidden relationship. He's pleading with the person to accept this status of the relationship.

Then Badbye, they tried but the relationship's over.

UhGood, he's lonely again and trying to get over it. He knows it's better to be alone but he doesn't want to be.

Everythinggoes - coming to terms with it being over.

ForeverRain - it's over but he's still contemplating and walking in the city alone again.

 

I usually don't do theories but damn this smacked me upside the head.

maybe i'm late and you guys figured it our already but all i keep seeing is people thinking it's about self-love and about him coming to terms with himself and it kinda is but mostly about a relationship.

Well in a world where Bighit actually promoted solo stuff properly, we would've gotten a live action Moonchild MV (and physical copies) 0u0plz.png  but I actually think this lyric video was well done so I'm trying not to be too annoyed about it lol

 

i think RM def wanted to leave the lyrics open to interpretation but I'm fairly convinced my theory is right now even after watching this lyric video. It's just so.... suspicious za5g21G.png

Yeah the lyrics video exceeded my expectations tbh, and I figured Joon probably didn't have time to film this time around. Still, a MV of him would have been nice meowfaceplz.png

 

LOL maybe it's really the source of his inspiration, who knows laugh.png . The songs Tokyo, Moonchild and Badbye is suspicious for sure hurrplz.png

edit: Thanks for adding it chuplz.png . Just voted, I am the first one ahmagahplz.png . I have a clear favorite but I love all the songs on the playlist.
