Not really. Pop stardom can't reach the limits as it did with Britney in 2001 because we're more in a digital age where people can forget about a scandal the next day. Britney had been a worthwhile act but her breakdown just affected her deeply with her motivation to continue performing. Anyways, unlike 2001, Britney has a higher chance to get a #1 on the Hot 100 since she went through tons of radio bans and rule switching that kept her from going to #1.
