Boi, I'm really into the show's aesthetic showcased in this episode.

Screenshot_20180714_052657.png

screenshot_2018_07_15_12_18_27.png

How the characters, even the extras, are coloured in such livid but cold way which gives spaces for, probably, one of the show's main characteristics:

screenshot_2018_07_15_12_31_43.png

screenshot_2018_07_15_16_55_00.png

screenshot_2018_07_15_16_56_21.png

Visual atmosphere contrast!

And men, just the first episode but there was a "pedophilic" rape already? (assuming he is truly minor).

Screenshot_20180714_052424.png

screenshot_2018_07_15_16_50_25.png

Moreover, I found interesting how she did an anology of her sanity like it was a bottle of sweets (the sweets being her "love").

And those final scenes, definetely an anime to keep an eye to see how far can go with the plot.

Finally I'm putting my faith on the manga readers who said the relationship between Shio and Satou does not develop into something perverted and stays this "innocent".

screenshot_2018_07_15_12_21_16.png

'cause if it evolves into that then the show would lose it's charm for me or at least a big part of it which was displayed on this first episode.

Episode 2 tho...

64DGZECkYclSSSqStuP-oOBpawwq3xDHM8qI41dM

The pacing is really fast, direct when it want by letting some stuff on the dark...unless you had read the manga.

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_00_09.png

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_00_19.png

At first, It seemed the show gave away how is format would be like (a jerk/bitch appears as a threat of Satou happiness, Satou take care of him/her, "saves" the day and to wait for next enemy on the upcoming week) but boi, by the second half of the episode it left clear is going beyond that on it's narrative.

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_00_58.png

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_01_18.png

The tension and mysteries are building up dynamically and even tho is yet to see a murder, the show is managing to build an uncomfortable atmosphere psychologically.

However, Satou monologue of her love for Shio's can be tiring. Despite that in this episode it went into more detail of how Shio and Satou relation is, it was buried among stuff that were said and left clear in the last episode.

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_01_51.png

screenshot_2018_07_23_18_02_09.png

And that cliff hanger, like I said, a series to see how far the plot can go.

How to deal with jealousy, that kind of jealousy which makes you want to smack something. By Satou

The end

Thanks for coming to Satou's TED talk.

Anyway, glad is really not going into the "enemy of the week format" and, despite it's fast pace, it takes it's times to build up tension without feeling is dragging the plot.

screenshot_2018_07_30_18_14_01.png

I've expressed my concern regarding the relationship between Satou and Chio on what it can lead. But, this episode left clear that is the least thing to be worried about.

So far it has been living up to the hype.

So we finally see Satou go full yandere, I would like to say it's a shame that they did not show the murder but with this action the anime left clear that graphical murder is not what they are aiming (for now) and the jaw dropping dropping moments (to address it somehow) are more reletaded on how uncomfortable the viewer is with the characters and situations and the plot going into the "everyone are f*cked up until proven otherwise" route.

screenshot_2018_08_07_10_39_00.png

screenshot_2018_08_07_10_45_11.png

Even thought this episode felt more calm than previous one it did not stop, in any moment, to add suspense and built more questions to the plot.

ezgif_3_0f8456b6ed.gif

So far I'm loving how dinamic the pace is going on the show without feeling is rushed or incomplete.

And finally, #newcomer

First the teacher and now her, boi if Satou ain't the ultimate playgirl for sexual psychopaths. Even the pedo of Mitsuboshi was into Satou at some point.

What is better than one yandere alone in one room? Two yanderes alone in one room.

https://streamable.com/wu7ls

Please do not get rid of her this fast! One psychopath girl having a crush to another murder-sociopath-psychopath girl can led to so many situations if they know how to use it ðŸ˜, the yuri that is needed, until someone decide to bring Murcielago.

Now back to the episode, it was a matter of time that Shoko sooner or later would get involved into this #mess.

screenshot_2018_08_15_08_05_07.png

Which, I suppose, the show is getting into it's turning point since, not only is almost half of the 12 episodes announced, but with Shoko getting involved on this pretty much set the foundation for the road to the climax judging how the key characters reacted...assuming the show will follow the opening secuence from episode one.

screenshot_2018_08_15_07_55_18.png

C_h.gif

B_h.gif

The show is not loosing it's pace yet, and it's improving the atmosphere through it's edition.

screenshot_2018_08_15_08_08_25.png

screenshot_2018_08_15_08_06_22.png

Things just got started.

God Dammit! I wanted more of her...but oh well...

Things are getting intense, but I think the production value just dropped it a bit this episode? This could be fatal for stuff like shock val...

hsl_II_Conv_Gif.gif

Nah...nevermind, it will be fine.

screenshot_2018_08_23_09_50_41.png

hsl_III_Conv_Gif.gif

screenshot_2018_08_23_09_45_19.png

The show keeps the premise of "Everyone are insane until proven otherwise" and with the new information it makes you wonder if Shio was even "safe" in the first place before Satou arrived. Or even if she would be better without Satou in the current scenario.

Moreover, Shoko made some bold moves in this episodes which put her into the no-turning back position.

screenshot_2018_08_23_09_48_09.png

hsl_IV_Conv_Gif.gif

screenshot_2018_08_23_09_53_07.png

Already half of the show and probably the major question would be: who is not insane?

#top10animeplays

And the circle of lunatics keeps getting wider and wider and the ties are getting stronger and closer among all the participatns.

screenshot_2018_08_29_00_41_26.png

screenshot_2018_08_29_00_43_28.png

Now the show indirectly reveals more of Satou background through the new character behaviour... and boi what a behaviour.

Moreover the show keep proving it's uncomfortableness come from the psychological side rather than the shock value, and that characteristic is enforced thanks to the seiyuus work who are doing a fantastic in portraying the tense of the situation given through their voices.

hsl_A_Conv_Gif.gif

The plot is on it's way to the climax and it better deliver it 'cause is doing a fantastic job in building the story.

This episode provided some interesting secuences which pretty much embodies the show's whole atmosphere like any other episode have not done yet (yes, even surpasing Mitsuboshi's semi-pedophile awakening in "Long Monochromatic Night" episode #imo)

But let start with the first half which was a flashback. The way it was portrayed from a first person view and with almost no background music neither voice just statics working as the voice was a bold move coming from a show that relying on the shock-factor is one of his strenghts.

hsl_C_Conv_Gif.gif

My complaint is that, they should had gone full first person perspective and not shift it to third person once in a while and just do it at the end 'cause that pretty much interrupted the immersion and finally if the effects were refined a bit the impact of the "psychotics breakdowns" would had been bigger.

Birds of feathers flock together - Moonlight ver. -
The second half came back to it's current time and boi things are moving up fast. Now there are alliances and probably a clash between these will occur on the remaining episodes.

Birds of feathers flock together - Night ver. -
Despite it's content this episode went slow but creepy and it makes me wonder in what the climax could lead.

First, what everyone came for:

And with this episode, the psychological insanity content reached new levels of gruesomeness.

Which is proved on how the show treated the key shocking moments, with a subtle graphical content but with a edition which manage to embrace the horror of the situation and even make it disgusting without going over the top on the gore.

Except for manga readers, is uncertain what will happen next and with it the anime proved it's worthiness to keep hook me on it.

screenshot_2018_09_11_11_01_54.png

You said it, because it's creepy but more important, a creepy series that does not like to go over the top to shock audience. Shoko's death could had gone way gore in any other anime and lost it's impact but here it managed to be shocking and even scary at some points without going over the top on gore or melodrama.

And regarding Shio's mom, no words on the anime about her yet.

Boi, last episode was really a turning point for the series. Now they are no holding back in making any character miserable and thus a psychopath. Even the voice of reason, Shio, blended her "innocent" presence into the series' chaotic and insane world...or at least now she is aware of it. Beside of having a stellar participation this time.

However, the production budget is really now showing it's flaws at this stage when they try to aproach some moments in an surreal way, wishing some effects could had been better pulled. Nevertheless, the script still managed to embrace the viewer onto the show's mood despite that obstacle, and that is something that deserve praise.

Yeah...they married and sealed their love with a kiss...yeah...Shio is not even a teenager and Satou is a teenage yandere...yeah...he...he...excluiding all of that. Kyaaaa! That was a cute kiss.

hpslB.png

SUUUUUUU-------CHAAAANNNN!

I still believe the series wasted a huge potential by getting ride of her so easily.

Anyway, there was a point on this episode were it felt either it was going to be stale compared to the rollercoaster of the previous episodes were or it did not knew were to go anymore but fortunately it picked up and kept the psychological tension.

With only one episode left, this final stage of the series is really going all out without going over the top and I love it.

Ok, I think anyone who saw the first episode expected this scenario, but some story points here were not something I expected and left with a gratefull surprise.

Satou does feel remorse, the real culprit behind Asahi's and Shio's dad dead, Shoko's body and, of course, Shio overall outcome of this ride. Moreover, I felt the episode crossed a bit it's boundaries regarding content, but still not to the point of going overboard.

However, can't deny it felt rushed and pushed to hard to include the rest of the cast on it's final episode, moreover I felt the production quality drastically dropped and it played against the premise in some scenes. Like when Shio threatened to commit suicide for the sake of Satou. true love everybody

Despite that, the anime pretty much delivered an ending expected for it's tone. A bit of this and a bit of that but not a "happy" nor "good" neither "rightfull" but a "just" one, for a series where everyone have their own attitude and beliefs about pure love and how far they can go.

Overall, a series that met the expectation in delivering a trainweck of sick-minded people. Althought it was great the anime went deep in the mind of Satou about her attitude and behavior, regardless if you accept it or not, and on a lesser scale, most of the rest of the cast. Still has it's flaws (draggy at points, production value, some minor plot holes and wasted characters) but it delivered a solid horror, thriller story as a shojo ai themed anime. Because, after all, it all revolved around Satou and Shio romantic-pseudo-platonic love between them and it's development.

A special mention in how regarding content it may look tame compared to other "edgy shows" but regarding theme and it's treatment is more f*cked up and horrific than others. (rape, pedophilia, domestic violence, etc)

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_19_54.png

Finally, the status of the cast in the finale:

-Mitsuboshi: Alive, but broken (raped more than once by MILFS) and probably pedo for life.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_12_11.png

-Teacher: Alive and arrested in front of her family.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_11_57.png

-(Best girl)Aunt: Alive and arrested...but she is gonna have her time of her life in prision.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_11_46.png

-Shoko: Dead and her body now in ashes.

screenshot_2018_09_28_21_49_10.png

-(Wasted potential)Su: Alive...but probably broken as well (I bet if this would had continued, she would had commited suicide)

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_11_28.png

-Asahi: Alive and broken as well.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_15_50.png

-Shio & Asahi's mom: ...not clear, but either alive or dead, she was as broken as the other characters from above.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_13_20.png

-Shio : Alive but definetely broken and full psychopath for the rest of her life.

screenshot_2018_09_28_22_14_18.png

and Satou: Dead
