UST student Kyle Viray VIOLENTLY beat up his ex-girlfriend SEVERAL times (twitter has all the graphic images, and Im talking extreme bruises-- hematoma) yet managed to get off the hook all thanks to UST (the admin allowed it to happen). I asked myself, am I really shocked? We know UST wields a mighty sword that is injustice. And they get away with it every damn time.

This sick, twisted abuser gets COMMUNITY SERVICE for repeatedly hitting his ex girlfriend. It so happens that more women came out saying that they too were physically abused and publicly humiliated by said asshole. And all this guy gets is community service? You are literally letting this criminal run loose. He's not getting mentally rewired by doing that, so what's stopping him from doing it again? PLUS this sends a message to more abusers out there that they can get away with their shit as long as they shake the hands of corrupt higher-ups. FUCKED UP!

How did this become public knowledge? Diane, the ex girlfriend, resorted to showing the public what she went thru under this monster because UST and the Court won't give her the justice she deserves. #LockUpKyleViray #ExpellKyleViray #StandUpAgainstViolence #UST

Kyle Viray, abuser. See pics of asshole below.

Correction (jul 16, 12:23am) *UST won't give her the justice she deserves* (omit: the Court)

Edit: I wrote this post with the intention of exposing our faulty justice system that favors abusers like this guy and silences victims of abuse. That is the truth of it. Diane posted her story on her twitter because according to other tweeters, this guy only received community service from UST. Now whether it is the admin or the college that gave that sanction, it is still UST that I chose to call out because they are letting this happen within their institution. That is really scary. I have so many friends in UST that have expressed their disappointment towards the rotten system of their school but they just have to deal with it, they don't get fair treatment or justice because they are students who choose to hold on to their education instead of fighting for what's right but risk being expelled. That's why I said UST "gets away with it every damn time".

I couldn't let that happen this time because this is serious abuse towards a human being. Not getting justice means this guy can continue to wreak havoc on other women like he has done several times before. Not getting justice means his victims will just have to deal with the physical and mental trauma he caused them. Not getting justice perpetuates the idea that violence is okay because you can get away with it as long as you find a way to talk to people to take it easy on you.

Now, I do not know the intricacies of the case. I'm only getting my knowledge from twitter, from other Thomasians, and people who are informing me more about this guy (they want to remain anonymous). But we couldn't be nearer to the truth when the evidence is already telling it to our face. Kyle Viray was terrified of the consequences of beating up his ex-girlfriend several times. (as seen on the text messages) And I'm sure he's more terrified now that he's exposed.

WE need all the help that we can get. We need lawyers to back up this case, we need human rights groups and womens groups to stand by the women Kyle Viray abused, we need senators and high officials to recognize this case so justice can come sooner. (WE all know how hard it is to get justice in this country)

Extra note: A woman from his high school messaged me that he groped her on several occasions and even in public, she would like to remain anonymous.

Extra note: DO NOT USE THE WORD "bakla" as a derogatory remark to this abuser. We all have to be responsible with our words and think about what that makes us. Using a gender identity as an insult is discrimination. Those who cannot understand this are not welcome in this discussion.

He's my batchmate and he tried to approach me before. Glad I didn't entertain him.

Now here's the tea. He's dating one of our gay prof that's why he had it easy (Passing, Overload Units, and lastly his sanction).

The girl is very sweet and cute. Didn't expect she will be treated like that :(
