A what age would you allow your kid to play rated M games?

Depends on how much I would trust my kid with that. Probably around 12-13 would be alright, if I look back at my own situation.

I still remember when I was 15 and I was excited to buy the new GTA game, but the cashier wouldn't let me buy it (i think the game was 16+?)

Luckly my dad was alongside with me then and just said 'Fine, then i'll buy that game'' to the cashier so it was no problem. I'm sure he wouldn't have done that if he didn't trust me with violent games.

Never. At 17 I wouldn't consider them kids anymore, and I it should really depend on the game itself but overall a parent shouldn't be encouraging their kids to play those type of game. It would be best trying to encourage to play something different more suited to their age.

Starting early teens (let's say 13-14) honestly I feel like it doesn't matter anymore because kids will get exposed to that exact same violent shit in tv shows or movies. even middle school is a godless place in general

otherwise it might depend on the game? my first m-rated game was MGS4 and i'd allow that earlier than, say, gta

Depends, I'm a gamer myself so I'll check the content. M stuff like violence (GTA) I'll just let them play once they turn 7-8 lol I was playing GTA San Andreas when I was that age. I only won't allow games that are rated M for sexual content until they're at least 14
