Apparently they cut out a lot of Joker scenes and he took the role really seriously / prepared a lot for it. From the limited SS scenes, his portrayal of Joker seemed to have potential. Apparently he was pissed that most of his scenes were edited out in the final cut. Can't see him taking this recasting for the Joker stand-alone movie well. Anyway Joaquin Phoenix is a good actor, but the Joker is a very challenging and dark role, so it'll be interesting how he goes with it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Like Jeremy said though I don't like the idea of a joker origin story because part of his appeal is his mysterious background.
