That their international popularity will not help them. international popularity means very little as this is south korea's ranking, not the world's ranking. mamamoo have a huge fanbase in korea compared to blackpink's fandom which is objectively smaller this is korean. Not international. Yt is relevant. And Korean popularity is more important than international one cause their money is coming from korean fandom. International fandom like us is mostly fake. LolBut now that Blackpink just sold 180k copies on Gaon in the span of 10 days plus their title track DDDD broke records left and right. First gg to have a PAK after chart reform and first to have 1 million ULs. Broke the yt view counter and beat BTS. And the cherry on top, first newgen gg to hold a dome concert. it still right to claim that BLACKPINK has a smaller fandom than RV and Mamamoo? Do you believe in Karma?? That after they belittle Blackpink last year. IMO 1) Twice 2) RV 3) Mamamoo 4) Gfriend 5) Blackpink I say this bc their streams mostly come from casual international fans and blinks who are thirsty for their annual comeback, but the "fan base" imo isn't as strong as the other GG's but honestly they might have a bigger fan base than Gfriend, it's hard placing 4th and 5th edit: everyone getting negged for saying the truth... you can't build a fandom by having annual comebacks people. And regarding BP they still need to comeback more regularly.... selling 180K+ on a hit cb doesn't mean their fanbase is automatically bigger than the rest of the fandoms (excluding Twice and speaking SK alone).
