Is it true that Twitter translators manipulate fans?

My friend likes to tell me her Twitter horror stories, the latest being that a lot of translator accounts are mini netizenbuzzes and purposely manipulate I-fans.

I’ve never had any problems with the translators for my favs. But then again, I only use tumblr blogs for updates on those types of things.

As one myself, it depends on the translator. My fanbase needs me because it's so small, so I have no time to manipulate others. I'm sure others do try, but it really is on the person who also consumes translations to do their due research and read different translations (if they're available).

I know a famous taehyung fan translator who always mistranslate videos/articles to favor BTS (can't remember her name tho, but you guys might know her she's messy). I remember that time when she said that Sunggyu said BTS were better than him or something. LMAO.

there was a time where a member of one my fav groups said something ab another members darker skin, which i found offputting.. but this person with lot of followers translated it as the person it was said to found it funny and laughed ab it, but in the video they are straight-faced, not laughing at it. but to be clear. that wasnt a like translator account its like a personal acc that ppl look to bc they translate stuff a bit. it was offputting to me for awhile. but im over it now. i even follow that acc again cuz its helpful. that was really just a onetime mis step imo. that being said -- because of this i think its very possible for big translator acc to lie to fans

I think I remember the issue but not the account, I can only think of two people when I hear "famous taehyung fan translator" and I really hope it's not the most famous, followed and unproblematic one lol

Yes, and vlive translators as well.

Fan translation on VLive should be banned istg most people there don't speak the language or not properly there's always so many mistakes and it creates controversies like?? they're so unreliable

Ok so I think the account you're looking for has changed @'s recently after pretending they were leaving Twitter, she's still out there but pretending she's not korean/can't speak the language so people don't go after her lol

Yes. They're /fans/ so theres big possibility that they are non subjective.

And not only @ twitter. Every fans translator medium has their own manipilators. Sometimes, if not most, they have no agenda but as fans wanting to show light side of their faves....

Not to mention haters in shadow.

I think I was once misguided by a fellow fan as their translations are very biased - until now I dislike the artist that translator tried to shade  ofc it's not the sole reason.

Ohmess recently on the YG article about dominating 47% of the 6 months.

In her first post about the article, she said Ikon was #1 for 41 days. A minute later said that article actually stated 43 days but in her opinion it wasn't that so she put 41 days instead.

exo translators are pretty trustworthy, it seems like a lot of a certain fandom tend to be the ones lying so they can get clout. exo-ls seem to generally care about getting the truth out. idk bout yalls fandom.

idk have the time i don't read fan accounts and shit bc its all "uwu OPPA IS SO NICE AND HANDSOME!!!"
