"You only like/support Holland because he's gay" MEANWHILE, ACTUAL ACTIVIST HOLLLAND ACTIVELY SPEAKS OUT ON IMPORTANT TOPICS, SUPPORTS HIS FANS EMOTIONALLY, IS KIND, CREATES BOPS, IS A DELIGHT, REALLY A WONDERFUL GUY, yet people still want to say that same ol' thing to his fans and claim them/us as fake fans

thank you Holland for existing

He's the man. datassplz.png  I love how unapologetic he is about his principles and what he stands for.

Other celebs get praise and fans for the things they do and say outside of their music, but people suddenly go blind when it comes to Holland. imstupid.png

Celebrity: *wears rainbow socks*

Kpoppies: OMG PROGRESSIVE KING/QUEEN SUPPORTS LGBT RIGHTS

Holland: *makes music while gay*

Kpoppies: can he like, stop fetishizing himself, marginalizing himself, shoving his sexuality down our throats, we get it, you're gay, how dare you make music about love

Sure, it's nice to see him actually taking a stand, and I appreciate what he's done. But i'm still not impressed with his output, and while there's room to improve, it's like...is this it?

It's also likely that Holland is very likely to be allured into the lull of rainbow capitalism. Something that pretty much all queer people should reject right out of principle as marginalized people. Sexuality should not be used for profit, unless those that are supporting it are willing to do it through thick and thin.

Every single artist has to use a part of their identity for profit. Why is it suddenly a bad thing when someone queer does it?

I'm not sure if you realize this, but companies only care about what kind of worth you have as a consumer. Companies that support Pride and LGBTQ+ intiatives only care about the bottom line, and things like the above are easy PR wins, for the most part. Yet when the going gets tough, or when Pride Month ends, these companies fuck off into the abyss, the queers purposes fulfilled for another year.

Pride, and indeed, the entire LGBTQ+ cause, comes from anger at those that look to keep LGBTQ+ peoples down. Stonewall was a riot, and that's what Pride should be. Not this degenerate, bloated husk of companies throwing pithy support behind parades and fascist pig cops that on one hand murder trans sex workers and lets themselves got off scott free, and on the other hand congratulates themselves for working security at Pride parades.

I'm well aware of large companies and their relationships to queer people. You're going into a tangent that is completely unrelated to Holland. He's a one man show and every ounce of support he receives goes straight to him. There are no companies behind him and there are absolutely zero Korean companies pandering to him or anyone gay.
