Idol disbandment that you actually support?

Are there any idol groups whose disbandment was probably for the best?

My vote is B2st.

They disbanded and regrouped as Highlight sans Hyunseung (the guy with the Sunday morning ATL, Georgia church hat). Given all of the issues with Cube, this decision may have been the only one to make.

I actually wished that highlight gave CUBE a chance. Because they definitely redeemed themselves

I would say mblaq and madtown. Esp madtown who had issues with both companies that they were signed to

Most disbandments are truly for the best whether it's because of the agency, the members or lack of popularity/success. No point in keeping the train moving if people on it aren't happy or doing their part. Sometimes you can fix it but if you can't and shit ain't improving, it's best to let it go.

Whenever After School disband...

And I'd say Stellar, since the members were obviously exploited by their company.

:/ Pledis actually letting Gaeun believe for that long that they might give AS a comeback is beyond fucked up.

The SNSD contractual fallout was a huge bummer for me at the time, but looking back, I'm glad SeoSooFany were able to leave SM, a company that clearly gave no shits about any of them. It's made all the better by how well all three have delivered on their own.

I remain supportive of the members from most other group disbandments too since they obviously wouldn't give up their life dreams without good reason. The only ones I cannot stand are the groups that are clearly never coming back but the members or company keep insist are happening *cough* Pledis and After School *cough*

Kara, I didn't like the direction they were going they should've disbanded with Damaged Lady, that was such a great promo in both Korea and Japan, it felt like a true farewell.

I feel bad for Young Ji she had such a short lived participation in Kara and despite loving the releases after DL I feel like they deserved better, the way things were handled at the end made me so mad.

tbh most disbandment happen for a good reason so I end up accepting and move on, all I need is some type of closure so I'm ok when the group and agency are clear about the disbandment and don't give me more hopes (SM is cruel).

I think the 2nd idols seem a lot happier in their solo careers so that makes me happy for them.

I agree with this so much

After School's last song was released in 2015. It was a Japanese power-ballad, fitting I suppose for one's "last song", although we didn't really know it then.

They stopped promoting as a group then too, and since 2014 both the girls and fans have been begging Pledis for a Korean comeback. It's the most unfortunate case, because it's not like AS were unpopular. Once SVT got popular, even NU'EST got 2 comebacks, but AS remained in the basement... Jungah still to this day reminisces about AS, and all the members are super close irl. Maybe that's the part that hurts the most. You'll see AS as a group of friends all over social media, but they were a powerful, distinctive group of entertainers whose careers were hindered by the very company they helped establish.

We're tired of waiting, and Lizzy leaving was really the last straw. There's no way I can imagine AS as 4, and I'm content with them doing solo work. Pledis needs to stop making this a painful experience for us. Although once Lizzy left, I feel like I'm simply numbed to any more pain left. Can't say the same for every Playgirlz/boyz though..

Miss A is a recent exception imo, Only You was a hit and they just did nothing with it

B2ST for me, too. Cube wasn’t letting them reach their full potential, which is obviously pretty damn huge since Plz Don’t Be Sad was a huge hit.

Also, Stellar, since my girls were miserable as hell. It hasn’t happened yet, but I fully support when B.A.P inevitably leave TS and likely disband. God knows they were dealt a shit hand.

Yea, I just want them to officially disband so fans and the members can get some closure. I also cant see Nana coming back being an idol again. She is doing great by herself.
