Would you pay to see artists lip-sync their entire concert?

Pretentious title aside, why do you think people are so lax now about performers not actually performing (yes, I am talking about bands who don't actually play there instrument on stage). When it comes to pop singers, we often say that it's because they have the stamina of a potato, so they can't sing and dance at the same time but then why do we even excuse artists who don't dance? Are we accepting the status quo or did we make it?

Depends on how good of a performer I know they are. I’ve seen Jennifer Lopez in concert and it’s one of the best shows I’ve been to.

so many bands that I love in that video.

To answer the question, I don't give a shit about lip syncing, I paid for the show experience, and I just want to be entertained and have a fun time. I'm going to be rocking out/dancing and singing along, and too drunk to care about lip syncing.

Depends on who. If I'm watching an artist like Lady Gaga or Beyonce I'd understand if some of their songs are lip synced cause they have choreography to dance along with singing and they are alone so 2 hours of singing and dancing would be too much without long rest. But if its someone like Lana Del Rey or Lorde I'd be pissed cause they literally just sing.

I mean..... I can understand dancing and singing at the same time is difficult so that I don't mind, plus it's like a different "type" of entertainment (more focus on dance than vocals)

like for example in EXORDIUM the first part of the concert has all the songs focused on dance (MAMA, monster, wolf remix, etc), and idc if they lipsync because singing while dancing for 15 mins straight is pretty much impossible

then there's the acoustic part of the concert, which I expect EXO to sing live because they're just sitting and singing, and there's no reason why they shouldn't

but for people who don't play their instrument on stage.... I mean it's ok I guess if they at least sing but if it's just flat out playing an instrument then yeah that's pretty stupid lmao

TLDR if there's a good reason you're lipsyncing then idc but if the entire point of the concert is to sing then you should 100% be live singing lmao

Looking at that video, it looks like those were possible times the bands were forced to not play?..idk

In general...

For bands (artist playing instruments) I want to hear the instruments live.

For pop artist/groups. If they're dancing a lot, then I don't mind if they lip sync a bit through out a song and/or have some backtracks. When you're actually at the concert majority will not even notice. However the slower songs, like ballads, they should try to sing live.

Lip syncing and fake playing the instruments is a disgrace for real musicians. I love that they mock it lmao. And I don't think fans would be care much about the imperfection of the performance as long as it's live.

I went to a local band concert once, they fake played. I felt so let down. It didn't feel genuine at all, I left with a sour taste.

As for artists who are more on the performing side, if the show is physcally demanding it's understandable to a degree. I don't think I would mind if they sing along to it or constantly do ad-libs. But your question was "entire concert", and my answer is hell no.

I went to a kyary pamyu pamyu concert once and found out on the internet that she was known for lip syncing all of her performances.. It kinda made me feel bad but at the same time I was a fan and it was such a unique occasion to see her.

Nowadays I'm a fan of groups who don't lip sync so I don't have to worry about that hurrplz.png
