Why "Straight People" jokes aren't harmful

Since everyone and their mother was getting big mad I made a thread, because I am kind and generous

Let me start by saying

1. ISSA JOKE

In recent years a weird subculture of straight people jokes has developed on twitter dot com, most of which involve saying something like "gays are superior" or "it's only for the gays!" These jokes themselves are harmless and simply fun. They're what we're gonna call a coping mechanism of sorts, it's sort of a take back the reigns thing. After years of being the butt of jokes we're turning it around on straight people of sorts. But the point is the jokes aren't with malicious or bigoted intent as most jokes about gay people were and are. That coincides with the fact that heterosexual people cannot be oppressed for their sexuality. One gay person saying, "hets have relationship issues!" doesn't change the point of view of the world. But when a straight person says "gays aren't good cooks" (idk i'm not smart) it contributes to dangerous stereotypes that further discrimination against gay people. The jokes themselves made by gay people don't contribute to any sort of dangerous stereotype or marginalization of straight people. As years of homophobic jokes do.

Anyways, neg me if you want but coming from a bi gal, this is my outlook.

I'm bi and I think your way of thinking is toxic

Majority groups can't be oppressed so those jokes don't affect them the way that they affect minority groups. Care to elaborate on why you think it's toxic?
