Yes, she has been landing triple axels in practice. She is still competing on the junior circuit so hopefully she will survive puberty and keep her jumps as she transitions into senior competitions.

 

Granted there is a lot of fierce competition with the Russians.

well it all depends on whether puberty plays in their favor or not because puberty is a girl's biggest enemy in figure skating. There's a reason why so many female skaters are thin--the lighter you are and the less curves you have, the easier it is to do jumps.

I didn't know about that American girlie though. Wow and she's just 12. Although that 3A is very problematic and interrogated, I'm a little shook. People seem to be achieving things at younger and younger ages. And she'd be just right (in age) for 2022.

even puberty can affect men, but it's not as drastic as it affecting the girls. Nam Nguyen is the only male skater I'm aware of who struggled with his skating as a result of puberty.
