i hate the idea of Kpop acts getting into the US market!

its could be just me i don't know,.

its not about the Wonder Girls mistake i just dislike it when Kpop acts get into the US market, some people may say its like getting into the big leagues and whoever make it in the US market is the best etc,..

even with Psy or BTS,.. or when some people say that BP have that western feel to them and they can make it there, i even dislike that, i really hate the western pop and i only listen to very very few western pop artists

the same old people from 80s and 90s the likes of Backstreet Boys & MJ but very rarely,.. cause when its comes to western music i am a hardcore rock/metal fanboy ,..

now before someone attacks me with the petty argument of "oh if it wasn't for western pop your faves wouldn't have been here, you should respect them" i don't give a damn about that lol and i don't give a shit when some people compare some kpop songs to western pop songs and talk about how they sound similar or how kpop groups copying western pop and blah blah blah,, i don't give a damn lol i listen to kpop cause its kpop even with the copy-cat shit to me its kpop its looks like kpop its sounds like kpop its feels like kpop not poop lol,..

i don't know how to explain it lmao, i just dislike the idea of an kpop act getting into the US market, its definitely good for business but,..

i mean i have been avoiding the western pop for many years to the point i don't even know anything about any new popular western pop act, i don't know anything about Justin Bieber other than his name, i am legit living under a huge rock when its comes to western pop because i am avoiding it but when kpop acts get involved with the US market its suddenly brings back all those memories of that trashy spoiled pop culture with its trashy garbage media and the stupid scandals surrounding it all the way to the paparazzi shit,.

Kpop is like the only safe zone for me when its comes to pop music even if its based on the western pop,. people can talk about all the similarities but i still find Kpop to be Kpop with the small changes like singing in Korean lyric that alone does a big difference in sound and feel to me as a listener,.

when a kpop act gets into the US market is like a WWE wrestler getting into UFC,. please don't do that to me let me stan in peace lmfao

The reason i'm disliking Bts title tracks these days is because their music is getting americanized. I liked the times when their music was about criticizing society and not about love. Songs like Dope or Fire were truly Bops with amazing lyrics.

right, and their concept slowly turned into illuminati ... so american style

I understand how you feel because I used to think like that, mainly because I know asian artists like our kpop groups are still victim of racism in the US/western music industry but now I just think it's a bit selfish of me to think like that, because kpop artists/groups like BTS, Psy, BP could change things in the west and make kpop able to hit big in the US. Asian artists need recognition in the west. They bring pride to their home country and it's such a huge thing for them to hit big in the west, I can't bring myself to think "they shouldn't go there" because I think that's what kpop has always been trying to do? I may be wrong but that's the idea I had when I got into kpop.

Kpop groups dont censor their own language...

That was pretty stupid for bts but it was their fake woke and "whew I'm so thoughtful I don't even let the easiest offended to get offended" act so we dont need to pay attention to that.

Also, they do. Kpop idols have much less freedom to curse/use sexual words in their songs than western artists.

that sucks for you. i'm guessing many of the kpop fans that hate western music feel like that too. i can understand not liking your faves becoming more western by entering the US i guess, even though i don't agree, but i'm not sure why it bothers you when it comes to groups/artists you don't seem to stan? unless you just like kpop in general, idk

personally i've always liked many western artists and music, getting into kpop didn't change that (though for a while i was like 100% focused on kpop). i never expected bts doing as much as they are in the US but ngl it's kind of perfect for me that it happened this way. i love my faves doing activities in the US and helping them succeed here

How is BTS music geting americanised? The songs that they did at debut and the songs that they release now all have influence from the west. Songs about love are not something specific to america, kpop is full of them.

yeah i guess its because i like kpop in general,..

i am not against western artists and music its just the western pop that i dislike, other than that the majority of my music playlist is western,. and i have been avoiding the western pop even before getting into kpop,

i have no idea how i would have felt if i was a BTS stan but its not like i will hate the group itself its just more about my preference and the dislike of the western pop,..

It's not kpop acts, it's just ONE act

And why do you care when it's not even your faves

so am i only supposed to care about my faves? whats wrong about being a casual fan or a casual listener?!,.

and if you by any chance think this thread is a low-key shade against BTS you are wrong,..

so you just don't like it if their music is becoming more like western pop? i think that's just your personal music taste then no?

like how there are also many i-fans that dislike kpop groups doing more jpop-like music or cute/innocent-concept(that usually comes with certain sounds).

idk to me it doesn't sound like you care much about groups/artists entering the US market itself and just the music changing (as a consequence?), but maybe i'm not understanding you well.

yeah its more like when SNSD did the english ver for "The Boys" i was like why?! the original korean ver had enough english lyric in it already lol,

i mean its good for business but i dislike it as music, however i wouldn't have a problem if it was rock or rap genre cause i am hardcore western rock/metal fan
