TWICE has been put under the brackets of a cute girl group with nothing much more to them, with their music videos and music all sounding the same and serving 'kidz bop teas'. Well to anyones surprise, TWICE's energetic concept immediately puts them in the category of cute and child-like. If you aren't doing girl crush, you're immediately lolita and appealing to uncle fans! So, TWICE have released 8 Korean title track M/Vs, 4 Japanese title track M/Vs and 1 Japanese and 1 Korean b-side M/V but we'll be going through the Korean ones :> Like OOH-AHH: based on stereotypes of girls in a zombie apocalypse. Cheer Up: based off of movie characters TT: haunted house with popular Halloween costume stereotypes Knock Knock: prequel to TT, girls slumber party but end up dying due to freezing in the cold and coming back to haunt the house as the characters in the book they were reading Signal: girls with super powers trying to attract the same alien Likey: girls going around Canada trying to find the best places that'll gather the most likes on Instagram Heart Shaker: a trip on the Heart Shaker train, no real story-line, just the girls bein girls (and duplicating..) What is Love?: the girls going through love-based movies with the characters parodied by themselves trying to find out what love really is So, it's interesting to see that people can accumulate TWICE's whole concept to be the opposite of versatile. I think that's the problem with most of them these days. Although there are a few girl groups that do write their own stuff (G-Idle for example have Soyeon helping produce things). It's not about the concept, it's about women doing what they want that should matter. No matter if it's cute (like Orange Caramel) or sexy (like Brown Eyed Girls) or "badass" (kinda like G-Idle/sometimes 2NE1). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's more about their look and style. But it isn't any more or less fake than any other concept. Look at all the cute/innocent girl groups that have members who just weren't made for that concept. B612 22,399 Posted June 13, 2018 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Yeah and when people say TWICE has cute concept and processed to talk about them releasing kindergarten songs makes me feel that these people are just close minded and only see what fits their narrative...TWICE is a lot more versatile than people give them credit for, they are not badass like G-idle nor cute like Oh My Girl and APink nor sexy like SISTAR they are in the middle, they serve some badass moments, some sexy moments, some cute moments and that's what I like about them Whatever TWICE is doing it is perfect for the public, it is something that only they can do... they are loved by woman and men, old and young people of all ages, sure they aren't risky (since the haven't tried 360° changes) but that's what the public likes, they like the TWICE that makes uplifting songs and I'm ok with that Anyways, I'm excited for TWICE's first summer comeback Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
