What is your standard for a good album?

when i like more than half of the songs

or when it's half but the songs are just TOO GOOD

Yeah I agree with this. The half that is good has to be really good with stand out tracks. In fact I prefer this to albums that are consistent in quality but nothing very special.

Ideally, more than half of the songs should be high quality, and there should be a stylistic and conceptual cohesion without the songs ending up sounding too similar to each other when played back to back. But nowadays with everything moving to digital, a sense of cohesion and a unifying concept within one album isn't nearly as important as before when people listened to LPs/casettes/CDs, so generally speaking as long as 2/3 or more of the songs contained are good to great it should be considered a good album. Or, there can be one or two songs that really stand out as an all-time-fave and the other songs are all good even if some are not to my taste, then it's still a good album.

when i like half or more of the songs. and by like i mean that i could listen to those songs individually on repeat, not just that they are good enough i don't skip them

i prefer when the album doesn't have a similar sound throughout. just trying to listen to those types of albums in full the first time makes all the songs blend together so i end up put off

well i know some really excellent albums, so standard for a good album is quite high for me. i need to like, as someone said, at least about 70 percent of it.
but if im really into that music style and if i really really like couple tracks, i would consider it as a good album.

Liking 75% of the songs is a pretty good metric. I also have to enjoy the album after taking a break from it. There's definitely been a few albums that I was obsessed with at the beginning, but then after taking a break and coming back to it, I didn't like it nearly as much. Also, a few true standout tracks can skew my opinion of the album into thinking it's better, even if I don't like half of the songs.

Depends on the genre.

Like obviously I wouldn’t impose the same standards I have for björk to, say for example, snsd. They are two completely different artists, with their respective musical backgrounds.

For K-pop, generally I tend to consider albums “good†when they have a clear, cohesive musical concept executed well within or outside expectation. That’s why Pink Tape and Modern Times are some of my favorite k-pop albums.
