It depends, I think?

I'm not american, but I learned that one of the consequences of the racial segregation in the US is the one drop rule

Like, if someone is half black and half other (let's say white), then they will be considered black unless they're really white passing (like Halsey)

halsey is not half black , her father is half black .

thats why she looks white coz she is mostly white0u0plz.png

It depends where you live, if the people around you don’t care about it then it doesn’t matter. (In real life it doesn’t really matter). But on social media and in the media in general you will be crucified!! Also, whatever position you hold in society will be jeopardizing, so do it at your own risk. But the last two sentences are only valid if you plan on doing something that involves being in the public eye.

This the type of advice that gets people stomped out.

But it’s the truth, I live in America, Specifically NYC. The US is sort of the center of all this N word drama. And it goes exactly how I said in my previous post it only matters if you’re somebody.

There's not a rule on who can say it or not, because even black people in general have different opinions on the word, I have seen black people who don't want anyone saying it, I have seen black people who get mad that non-american black people say it, I have seen black people say that the word pretty much lost its meaning with all the overuse so they

don't really mind, I have seen black people who think it depends on the context, etc.

Basically you never going to get an answer.

Saying you from NYC don't mean a thing. NYC is basically 6 cities. Harlem aint like queens and neither are like Grenwich village or Manhatten.

My early years were in Brooklyn. Those were very different to my time in Houston and absolutely nothing like my time in North Dakota

I know people who've been beaten for laughing at jokes.

Stabbed over ipods.

Beaten for calling someone a fag.

To act like words don't have power or reprecutions. You gotta be some special sort of sheltered. Saying you live in America doesn't mean anything. There's a good 300 million+ other people sharing the country with you. it ain't monolithic in any way.

This is the stupidest thread I've seen on here for at least the month.

it's not some of us that are not black wonder about this.... would be ok if halsey or other white passing say it since they are half white/half black it or just ok for girls that are mixed but only darker like Alex Reid? this is a genuine question.

like I don't get how Cardi B even says it yeah she is afro-latina but she is still Latina the culture she grew up in it's different I cringe when she uses the N word as much as I like her.

Don’t get me wrong, there is truth to what you said; many sides to every story. Only speak for what I know and not from what I don’t. Everything you say is your opinion and based on your life experience so is what I have said. just because you’ve lived in many places in America doesn’t make your opinion anymore just been mines.

Words do matter obviously, but only in a setting where you have some kind of importance. For example I could say whatever I want on this platform and as long as no one knows my identity it will not affect me whatsoever; where as if I were to say it on my personal social media account they will be repercussions however dig or small. As I mentioned before my previous post.

And besides I was just sharing my thoughts on the topic, there’s no need for you to get so worked up.

Whether I’m sheltered on that that is debatable I guess; nevertheless there is much truth to what I said.

So calm your tits or balls , I don’t dicreminate.

I think It’s more has to do would where your raised, example like 69 he’s raised in the hood therefore a he said the N-word inhis songs it’s not views as bad as if some random Mexicanamerican said it. Plus I think people are OK with Cardi B saying it because again she was raised in the hood.

i'm biracial and i'm "white passing" whatever that means ... i don't say it because it's a slur used against my ancestors first of all and second of all people will have an issue with it because of my outward appearance.

when people look at me they just see a white girl with curly hair and i've made my peace with the fact that they are judging me based on first impressions and have no desire to get to know me, and if i use that word they will have even less of a desire to get to know me.  (and i know this has to do w many other races and situations so please i don't want to make it about me i'm addressing the concern)
