It's Okay to Be Offended

Hi y'all, I haven't been active in the kpop community as much lately but that's a different conversation. But here is what's bothering me.

I think the issues that annoy me as of now applies to the pop and kpop community as I've seen some comments floating around talking about other people being easily offended. Everyone is bound to get offended and it's counterproductive towards the general discussion when you're pointing fingers at who is wrong or who is being offended easily rather than discussing why it's offensive. There's no harm no foul on discussing why it's offensive and using "people are easily offended" as an argument just blocks an actual dialogue.

For example, Rita Ora's "Girls" controversy. TL;DC(are), Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani criticized the song for being tone deaf and harmful towards the LGBTQ community. A lot of discussion that I've seen towards it were counterproductive, calling Hayley and Kehlani making a big deal out of nothing and criticizing "outrage culture". Hayley and Kehlani were very respectful towards their criticisms of this song; it's unfair to say people can't say something about the song or Rita Ora shouldn't have said anything.

There's another issue about people calling communities selective on being offended which I found while looking around the recent Azealia Banks controversy. In terms of Azealia, she has shown time and time again to have given no shit towards the community she has previously shown support to. Just because she's bisexual, doesn't mean she can't be homophobic. Just because she has mental issues, that have been treated, doesn't give her the chance to spit out offensive things. There are millions of people with mental issues who haven't said a thing that's offensive. There is a big issue with racism and homophobia in the LGBTQ community, she has the right to point it out but she does not have the right to use slurs at them. Also, there's a more professional way of dealing with plagiarism and saying RPDR is watering down the drag community, whether or not true, is not the way.

Finally, the small Demi issue. She hired someone to grab her friend's balls unexpectedly. Although the guy said he wasn't offended by it, I think the intent towards the action was problematic. Not everyone will be not offended, and supporting her action just enables her to do something of the similar course.

Now that has been an episode of "What's been bothering snake"

Thots?

It's okay to be offended but it's also okay to criticize the being offended when you don't think there's a valid reason for it, especially when the offended party is attacking someone or trying to change something. Both sides have a right to their opinion and to express it but it doesn't always mean either side's opinion is reasonable or justified, so each side also has a right to criticize the other.

I don't even think azealia's psychopathic ass wants to be helped... I literally believe she gets a kick out of being the honorary bad guy she will say and or do anything to stay in the limelight does she need help? 500%. Does she want to be helped? 75% doubtful.
