A Hamster Named Loneliness 3,680 Posted June 2, 2018 Share Posted June 2, 2018 a lot of people still carry cash on them... and there's a convenience fee that I've heard restaurants have to pay when they charge cards and some restaurants just don't want to deal with that, especially if they're a new business and don't have much funds. Some restaurants also don't have a credit machine readily available yet (such as when they first open) or their POS isn't working and so they temporarily have to be cash only. There's a boba place nearby that used to be cash only for years and it's only this year that they finally began to accept credit cards. There's also a Japanese ramen place nearby that's cash only but the restaurant seems to be run by an elderly couple so it's understandable that they would only take cash.
