For me, I started watching more Chinese dramas after Nirvana in Fire happened. That drama is a masterpiece.
I find that China produces better historical drama, while Korean contemporary drama are better. Also, imo on average Korean drama are better, but the top tier Chinese drama are superior to their Korean counterparts.

I agree with the first part. Chinese historical dramas seem to be better while they still have a long way to go to catch up with Korean dramas for contemporary plots. Recently, I've been watching the Chinese web dramas though, and those seem to be getting a bit better for contemporary ones. For romance dramas, I'm a bit more partial towards Taiwanese dramas though. And I think Japanese dramas have the best mystery/thriller/slice of life ones.

I dislike the dubs too, but I understand why they're there for the big tv dramas. Unfortunately, dialects/accents vary too widely and there's like no point if the audience can't understand what the actors/actresses are saying.

Both of them are unwatchable this year so far, so IDK. I only finished Nirvana in Fire 2 from C-drama this year, the rest I skipped after watching 10ep or so. I only have been watching K-drama and C-drama for years but from late last year, there isn't much to watch that I ended up checking out Taiwanese dramas after 7years and BAMN. Taiwanese dramas are really good and diverse nowadays. Totally recommend!!

Hopefully, it will pick it up soon cuz I watch more k-variety nowadays. Dramaland has been very very slow (fortunately I really enjoy Taiwanese dramas this year which I haven't really interested for 7 years. Unfortunately, Taiwan doesn't produced many dramas compare to China or Korea so the waiting for new dramas is slowww). Overall, very slow time for me to the point I started to check some Hong Kong TVB series too.

Conclusion: Taiwanese dramas beat them this year. There are more diversity than usual, and its very addictive. I enjoy all the dramas that I watch so far: Attention!Love, Lion Pride, Iron Ladies, Meet me @1006, and currently The Ex Man (with Rainie Yang).

Not really into drama, but I prefer k-drama.

Last c-drama (and currently) I watch is "Moonshine and Valentine/Love Knot/Whatever the title". I enjoy it so far, and I hope I'd enjoy it till the end (ep 20 ish). Minimum dubs, me likey.

I'm still sticking to my faves drama though. In this case there's Song Qian, and last kdrama I watch is "Live" ft. LKS.

I watch Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese dramas whenever I find a drama from anywhere that hooks me in

Chinese dramas for tv have disappointed me while some of their web dramas are really very good

I go after dramas with highly addictive content and dramas with good ratings on Douban's site

It's not possible to say Korean dramas are losing quality, every year there are good and bad dramas but at the end of the year it's all based on personal likes and dislikes

True, chinese historical drama are on another level (it's mostly because they have the Big Budget $$$$ to support it with a huge population who will watch it.)

I remember DESCENDANT OF THE SUN was one of the most expensive Kdrama. And it was only possible because it was funded by Chinese investor. And it was about 10million $. Watching DOTS was like watching Movie. The visual were amazing.

Money can get you high productivity and quality.

Chinese drama can get any budget and can even surpass 50 million $ with no problem.

Korean drama are good as well thanks to their actor/actress doing a great job.

They give stronger vibe. It's the reason why westerners will prefer Korean drama/music over japanese, taiwanese, chinese....

Japan have the best plot/storyline, they have a lot of creativity but lack of exposure.

Korea follow the popular script and stick with it (too afraid to waste too much money or experimenting something new)

China seems not really care, they have the money, they spend it.
