Don't you mean Chinese hackers, their Sajaegi, and their bots? They cheat Armys don't even though I disagree with a lot of their methods on how they get their favs to the top.

kris has been charting in the top 10 for almost 3 years, this is not new, his fans did the same with his other songs

but why..

They clearly need to upgrade their bots because it's not impacting the right charts

Here is how antis/non fans thinks BB works

Fan A and B uses VPN

antis: ohmygerd they are cheating! bots fake news rarrr!!!!

BB EXPLICITLY STATES that VPN will automatically be filtered out.

Meaning if fans DO NOT HAVE US IP addresses, BB will remove the cheating with the quickness.

Once the cheating and inflation is gone, you are left with REAL, CREDIBLE, and TANGIBLE numbers that BB releases to the public.

BB is nothing like Melon that can be EASILY manipulated by fandoms.

They've been the #1 album/singles chart since the conception of modern music.

As long as a chart still has download as criteria, it seems like it will always be easy for fans to manipulate it. That's probably why itunes is a lot more prone on this. I heard itunes will no longer have it next year tho. So only streaming matters

Can army stop being salty over kris wu achievement??? Immaturity at the finest, like I really can't you guys right now...stay pressed!!! bts is still unknown to many people yet Kris Wu isn't.

what achievement?  it's a fact his cfans have been using vpn.  it's a fact most of those got filtered out.  he was supposed to have an estimated 40K downloads but billboard said fake love was the most downloaded song last week with 29k.  that's a sign, friend.  0u0plz.png

i can say the same thing about kris wu, if he's that known more than BTS, he would pulled more streams than BTS, but he doesn't even stand a chance, BTS got a lot of streams because local help Armys to streams, meanwhile there u got kris wu's fans tried so hard to prove and spread wrong info under chartdata's tweet about BTS on Billboard that Armys were cheating like them but they ended up looking like boo boo the fool at it's finest, they don't even know that Billboard filter VPN. tsktsk

i saw a * fan on an article's comment section saying the song was released first in the US so the only way to download it was using vpn. and also bc they wanted to support * career in the US.

topping the itunes chart can get articles written about them in their home country. someone made a thread about * number 2 and there was a short text mentioning how it topped US itunes chart.

What achievement? Chinese fans failing yet again to manipulate actual American charts? They don’t seem to get that they’re actually ruining his reputation and “debut†in America by doing this. He was supposed to have 60K downloads last week according to kworb, yet BTS has the top selling digital song at 29K. How did that happen, hmmmm?

IDK why it's fine for y'all to go so hard on whatever but when Tao, Kris, and Jackson's stans want to support their faves, suddenly it's a problem~ LOL, stay bothered, I guess~

Because it’s actual Americans buying BTS’s songs. Tao, Kris and Jacksons fans have made a joke of them in America and they don’t even realize it. They need to do things the hard way, tour, gain actual fans in America, and then chart on the real Billboard charts, not iTunes alone. Foreign fans can’t take shortcuts for their faves in the US, if they could, kpop would have charted well here long ago.. I’ve already seen American radio stations calling fans bots when fans request Kris Wu and it’s only going to get worse for him.

'Ruining his reputation'? I think you vastly overestimate how much the average person cares about stale stan cultire

Ok you guys are still not answering my question. I KNOW they want their favs to seem popular but topping iTunes is .. not the way when it isn't counting on billboard. It's like a waste of money and time at this point

Having a song at the top of the iTunes chart isn't that useless when you think about it. Most people still will see what are the top 10 to any chart. So I'm sure c-fans buy and try to keep them in the top in Hopes that actual u.s residents will buy the song and it will count.

It's about getting more exposure

are you asking is why is itunes the chart they're streaming on to support kris? If so, it'd be because china doesn't really have much of a music scene other than for ballads, ost's, generally public friendly stuff. Of course chinese people still access music like Kris', but because the cpop industry isn't as defined as japan's/korea's, the charts don't have much weighting either (or there's so few of them, or ppl just don't care). As a result it's more of an achievement to use a globally renowned chart, something that's a hard feat and better acknowledges the effort fans put into streaming for their fav.

If you're asking why is kris charting so high? He has dedicated fans, and thats that. We shouldn't be degrading any artist, esp not chinese ones (since they have the clout to pull these big numbers, chinas a god massive country) for charting higher than OUR expectations.

To gain exposure. In fact, I would say most non standom general public people check what's trending/ranking on itunes/spotify to find new music as opposed to billboard, so charting number 1 there could bring in new fans. And honestly, Kris' current style of music is very in trend right now so it's really not that bad of a strategy for getting new listeners.

It's just like how Ifan's used to buy melon passes. They are not Korean, and could just stream their fave's music via their own country's music services but wanted their fave to do well in the market that was important for their success and  growth
