This is also for other people who are coming up on drinking age as well. Never fucking leave your drink unattended. I don't care if the guy you're talking to is cute and has a nice butt. I lived a very sheltered life under my parent's roof. I've been to the club less than a handful of times, but I've learned to look forward to it now. I've been in a committed relationship since I was 18... so I can't help with the dating aspect because I wasn't in the field out of school, but I am someone who supports LGBT+ relationships, open relationships, and am a peer counselor for teens and youth in sex and relationships so I do have experience there. If you walk away for even a second, take it with you. and if you DO walk away from it/turn away from it... FORGET ABOUT IT. You lose like what, $12 max for an expensive cocktail? Just get a new one. Better safe than sorry. Even when you're holding it, put your hand over it. It's unfortunate that we have to go to these lengths, but it's really important to remember. In addition to this, if you happen to put down your drink and turn away for even a sec, really just get a new one. Also, if you go out for a night of drinking, I know it's a thing to go all out and get wasted but it's really much better if you know your limits and drink just enough to be tipsy and maintain being tipsy. Once you're drunk you're really reliant on your friends to keep you safe and tbh, you never know how they'll react until you're in that situation, some aren't fully reliable even if they're very good friends because they just don't know what to do/are off somewhere/drunk. If you really want to get wasted, absolutely tell your friends you're intending to get wasted so they know to watch out for you. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
