KARA Project reality show thread - Congrats Youngji!

well, she actually the 3rd oldest/youngest from the group of 5.

although the 3 of them (Shiyoon, Chaekyung, Somin) are all 96-liner.

but Shiyoon is the eldest among them (feb, 21), Chaekyung (july, 7) and Somin (august, 22).

 

anyway, i would like her to be the leader of a new group too~

leader + main/lead vocal + "face" of the group

is it too much?

I've always wondered about the youngest members. Did DSP honestly think they would fit into Kara? Some of the Baby Kara members are really not Kara material to me. I feel like just like what YG did, DSP is using this programme to promote a new group tbh. With the fans gained from this show, there is no way DSP will just shuck them into the dungeon.

 

All these other companies are getting ready to debut new girl groups. DSP could also be doing the same.

So it doesn't look like Shiyoon is gonna make it in to KARA. I don't have her in my top two, but I do like her. She has really grown on me. Visually I can see her in KARA, but other than that she lacks presence and energy on stage. She reminds me of Jiyoung in her early days. Kinda shy, but really cute. She's real mellow and looks really happy all the time. Plus she has a great smile! Right now she has that long, lanky, teenager body, but I do see potential in her as she matures. Maybe not as an idol, maybe as an actress? She has a unique look. I know she has her fans in Korea, Japan, and here too. 

So here's a little appreciation for Shiyoon!

About Shiyoon (I've said this in a korean forum), visually and personality-wise, I think Shiyoon is the best fit for Kara maknae. (2nd best being Chaekyoung.)

 

She's cute and can pull off sexy a bit if she needs to. Chaewon and Yuji are so young, right now they are pretty much cute..period. Sojin will have hard time with cute.

 

Personality wise, Shiyoon just seems like the sweet and docile type, yet with a bright personality.

 

She would actually be the perfect fit if she could get her skills to the level where she could perform in a 8th year group. I think she's about a year or two away from that. In a rookie group, she can grow with the group.

I like how she doesn't strive for attention and she is really laidback with a happy-go-lucky vibe to her

Hi! New here but i've read all the comments, I root for SoJin & SoMin, SoJin performs like a pro, with no excess of "fanservice" and SoMin has the voice, the looks and the attitud. I'd make a new group with the other girls. Putting ChaeKyung as lead Vocal, Joungi as Visual and YooJi as lead dancer.

I don't think I could bare seeing So Min and Chae Kyung apart after this, but I think I probably will have to. They are beyond adorable together, and they're the highlight of the mini-diaries and a lot of moments of the show. It sort of seems like it's made for So Jin and Young Ji to win, and I think given that they're older it may be better that way for the younger ones to find their own path.

What I want to come out of this while KARA project is that DSP does what's best for each girl in the long run. So far putting Sojin and Young Ji in KARA and having Somin lead the rest in a new group I feel is the best.

I think Chaewon will surpass Somin vocally. Idk, just a feeling. Waiting for her voice to mature more because R&B doesn't sound good coming from a kiddie voice.

 

In theory, if Sojin and Youngji make it into Kara (which I think is gonna happen), how would you redistribute the roles for Baby Kara with the remaining members?

 

Personally, I'd make...

 

Somin: Leader, Main Vocal (at least until Chaewon's voice matures)

Chaewon: Lead Vocal

Chaekyung: Vocal, Visual

Shiyoon: Vocal, Main Rapper

Yuji: Main Dancer, Rapper (Can Yuji even sing? I feel like she'll sound like 2008-Hara live)

 

Their rap would seriously lack, though. None of the Baby Kara members can do it like Nicole. 

I think Yuji's fixing to become the new Hyoyeon (during SNSD's early days, ofc).
