I don't understand why they can't just make the girls into a new project. Netizens hate Kara and adding the new girl(s) would bring them so much hate. Also, I think youngji, sojin and somin are way too good for kara (no shade or offense intended). I don't see how this could possibly be a good idea.

It's all about money for DSP. KARA is an established and popular brand in Japan. They want to milk the cow as long as they can. But I don't understand why some people hate KARA. KARA didn't do anything bad to them. If KARA took away the first place that could have gone to another band who also have their own loyal fans, KARA don't deserve the hate. The entire performance was created and executed by the hardwork of DSP team including KARA. They deserve what they get. What's there to hate? I pity the haters who feel unhappy and bitter. They should do their best to achieve their own success and not be jealous of others.

Also can not stress enough how rare it is to find some KaRainbow interactions it is ridiculous......same with Kara-jax and SS501/Kara back in the day.....Rainbow and Ajax show the most support for each-other and other DSP acts....

 

Kara not so much and idk if its them having a superiority/seniority complex, or them being antisocial (even tho they clique hard with other idols outside DSP), or if DSP purposely ostracizes them from such events which could have been the one of the reasons Jiyoung and Nicole opted out

 

Totally agree with you. If wasn't that almost 2 year break Rainbow would be more successful today

The producer was intruding into a sensitive area, hoping to elicit a dramatic response with high entertainment value to boost the show's viewership and ratings. KARA members just went along with the script. The producer however did not expect an adverse detrimental effect against KARA. In this reality show world, much of what we see on TV or the news are being managed according to what the producers hope to achieve. We only see one side of the story.

No, KARA has haters. Not that they hate the group per se. What ppl hate is that KARA is more successful than their biased group. It's more out of jealousy. In general whether it's sports, music, movies, etc, the more popular or successful something is the more haters there's gonna be. That's the reality. If something is doing good and nobody is hating on it, than nobody really gives a crap. There wasn't really anything ppl can hate on KARA without looking like a hater. So when the RS thing happen all them bandwagon-closet haters finally had the chance to get their hate on. To me what surprised me was that people were surprised that KARA had haters and took it to heart and made it a bigger deal than it actually was.

 

Anyways, let's stick to talking about the 'KARA Project' here.

My gripe with her is that she is the least talented member, has emotional detachment from the other members, is continually scolded for her singing and dancing from episode 1 to her recovery in episode 3/4 and shows no room for improvement despite being a trainee for so long, her facial expressions in dancing really shows she's "out of it"

 

Seriously all the other members have never gotten scolded as harshly as Youngji but because of this it makes her fans pity her and she gains more love from being pitied like a sad puppy

 

She is the member that cries the most too - she has severe emotional issues that should be resolved before she thinks about debuting :/

 

I can't think of anything that she will bring to the group besides liability in getting injured and hindering the group

 

Her singing is horrible and has no control and her dancing is weak - could be because of her injury but how long could she last if her injury is a continuing pain?

By "overly active" I meant the part where they are making disparaging remarks about other baby kara and current and former kara in order to make her look good. I dont think there's anything wrong in saying "I think this member is the best candidate." (Though to do it incessantly, is annoying.)

 

Though it's nearly impossible to not compare the candidates in situations like this, there has to be a line somewhere and apparently some of the fans are crossing it for some of the kamilias. TBH, I sometimes don't think they are Youngji fans because they must know some of those comments will antagonize fans of other girls and current and former Kara... and with that comes "anti" i.e. being against her being in Kara.

 

 

Anti might not always mean hate. For e.g. I'd rather have girl groups I like avoid EXO precisely because of the behavior of their fans. Does this make me an EXO anti? Though I don't hate the group, kinda...

How's she the least talented member? She has vocal problems, yes, but what member of Kara doesn't. I don't see how it'll hinder her considering the group she's joining. Seungyeon probably strained the crap out of her vocal cords during Pandora promotions, but she still 'hit' those notes. Youngji can do the same. From what I've seen, she has more singing potential than most of Baby Kara.

 

Her dancing is fine. From the 4th episode and showcase Step fancams (which she completely wrecked everyone besides Sojin and Somin), she does exceptionally well. She also did well in her Sherlock cover from her CCM trainee days. The doctors probably told her to be cautious so she doesn't hurt it again when it's healing. She seems more than fine now.

 

Her 'emotional detachment' from the Baby Kara members isn't a bad thing. She seems aware that it's a competition above all things. I was all for Sojin joining Kara in the beginning, but from her personality, I don't see her fitting in anymore. She's too much of a leader and seems to really love these girls.

 

She gets scolded a lot, yes, but it's brought her more hate than pity from what I've seen. It's always brought up when trying to degrade her in some way. I think it's more than obvious that she's popular cause of her looks and her Kara 'feel'.

The only thing I find deferring about Youngji is how she, like others have mentioned, is mentally weak. Joining a group that gets a lot of hate takes confidence. Not everyone can be as independent as Gyuri or strong-headed as Seungyeon but I hope Youngji will toughen up a bit.

You can't compare a trainee with an actual member, I'm not demanding that Young Ji should be the next Baek Ji Young or a dancing queen, I'm just making some points that actually supports the idea that she is not the best option on KARA.

I agree that Youngji has questionable vocals, but she's still given harder notes than Chaekyung, Yuji, Shiyoon, and perhaps Sojin. I see too much basis on vocals. SNSD's dancing line has vocals that match Kara's lead vocals but I'm pretty sure Kara's lead vocals can out-sing them. It's all about natural talent for Kara, as in things that can't be learned--only perfected. And even then, how long has Kara lasted being at the end of the vocals hierarchy? Vocals aren't completely relevant when it comes to the group they're trying to earn a position in. Youngji singing Navi's "I Love You" proved more than anything that she has more potential than the 4 mentioned before.

 

If you can watch this and still tell me she's lacking in comparison then let's not, lmao.

What exactly is the best for Kara? IMO, it's someone who can fit in. Kara is famous for their music, their catchy dances, their looks, and their personality (which includes their ability to attract fans). If we look at that criteria, Somin, Youngji, and Chaekyung are the best fits. Sojin's still my favorite, but I honestly want her in another group. Chaewon and Yuji's visuals will not match Kara's, nor will they ever if I'm being honest. Shiyoon is cute and all, but she always fails to have an actual presence amongst the others.
