KARA Project reality show thread - Congrats Youngji!

Its a lot more complicated then i thought it would be. Somin, chaekyung, sojin and youngji has the best qualities to get into kara, but i still think they should get into their own grp so its conflicting. Somin is too good to be put in kara. She needs to shine in her own grp and i feel like kara girls might feel threatened by her, Chaekyung can get into kara, but her +somin make a good pair so i want them to stick together unless the both join kara. Sojin should get into kara but my feeling is that she wouldn't help kara popularity and thats what they need the most. Also i just don't see her mesh well with kara girls. She is a leader and she'll have to suppress that part of herself to get friendly or at least in good terms with them. In the long run it won't be good.Youngji is the most popular so it would help kara popularity, but whats the point of putting her popularity into a group who might not stay together in 2 yrs? DSP would be better off using her popularity for their new upcoming ggrp.The other girls are just too young to make it.

 

If i have to choose tho i think somin,chaekyung and youngji are too valuable to be into kara. So i think so jin should get in and somin can be the new leader.

Just watched the latest ep.

 

Chae kyung lacks charisma and stage presence, but she is in top 3 when it comes to prettiness and that will help her get notice in the long run. The more she perform the better her stage presence will be, but she really has to work on it. Its weird, because she is noticeable on the show. But on the actual stage she lacks. I don't know if its because they don't give her too many parts to sing, or if its because they don't show her much when she performs. Like she was invisible in lupin for me. Then again lupin as a whole was terrible from the group.

 

Sojin is in a hard place for me. Like i don't think her visual match kara at all. But i don't think she matches her own grp either. When the upcoming grp debut they will be young and will most likely do cute, young fresh concept. And sojin just doesn't match that. We've seen it with rock u. And i watched their japanese showcase fancams and i still don't see her matching the other girls cuteness. It also wouldn't be fair to stick her with doing cute concept for the nx 2-3 yrs if she debut with the younger ones. Then again, Girl's day sojin was in the same position, but she stuck it out and in the end it work  out well for her.

 

Shiyoon need to stick out more. Look wise she was very pretty in lupin, but she's shy and it hinder her.

 

Somin somin somin. My fave. She is total package. I don't really want her in kara. Hara will most likely side eye her and its better that she gets her own grp with leader position if sojin isn't in it.

 

Young ji. Hmm i actually like her. But i have a feeling her personality will get on kara members nerve. She may cause a hwayoung type situation. Her dancing in lupin was awful. I don't know if its because her ankle wasn't 100%, but her dancing was not good. I love her voice tho. She need more training for her live singing but her tone is very nice.

Hmmm i just finished watching...

 

I agree with the users who criticized youngji. Like i said last time, her dancing is weak and she show her frustration very easily as well. She needs a tougher skin and better attitude,

 

BUT... i understand her popularity more then i did before after watching this ep. Its more then just being pretty. She has this thing that makes people want to root for her. I think she is the one people connect with the most on a human level. She isn't confident like say somin, she's not super cheerful like the younger ones, nor does she flaunt her beauty like say chaekyung and she is not strong like sojin. She is basically the awkward pretty girl tryn to find her place after being in 3 companies already. And i think Koreans understand her because of this.

 

 

I think the stress of having been into 3 companies gets to her. The stress of her thinking its her last chance. So she's always stress 24\7. Her mindset isn't the same as the other girls except sojin. She and sojin are thinking of this as their last chance.  The others are young and can wait another few years. Sojin manages her stress better because she is older and the leader. Younji i think seems lost sometimes.

 

I think if she had a closer friend in the grp  she would be better at managing herself. She is obviously not that close to the others so she doesn't have someone that can ground her the way somin+chaekyung are there for each other. I mean none of them seems that close aside from these 2 anyway. The others get along well ,but they aren't very close. Shi yoon fades into the background, the other young ones are just exited to be part of the show. And sojin is more like  mother-sister then  a friend.

 

With that said. I think its pretty obvious Youngji will be the one in Kara. Now for the second spot it will be a battle between somin vs sojin. I personally would choose somin jusgt because she is better overall. I would even give a extra spot to chaekyung because japan like her and kara biggest market these days is japan. lol.
