i have watched "SAO" few months ago and it was kinda weird feeling for me lol, i wasn't really a big fan of it,
but it was kinda funny that someone actually made an anime like that,.
i had that kinda experience before the anime existed but unlike SAO i wasn't stuck in a virtual world by force, its
a virtual world that i created using my own imagination!,.

since i was a little kid every time i watched a movie or an anime that i liked i always see it in my dreams as me being part of it, but i guess every other kid went through that lol, however when i became a teenager its started getting more effective and the more older i get its becomes even more powerful!

at some point i created a virtual world inside my brain using my imagination, with my favorite characters in it including myself but i am a different character in the virtual world compared to my character in real life, i can have in the virtual world what i can't have in reality! but still i face a lot of problems even in the virtual world! like when my imagination suddenly starts to not work properly,

and i have been that way for like the past 10 years, if i was a japanese person with good writing skills i would have wrote a manga that will still not be finished today, i am a huge anime fan but sometimes i watch some anime's only to refresh my imagination so i can keep going with my virtual world cause there were some points that i quit and shut it down for too long but i always end up getting back to it,.

and its not escaping the reality thing, i live the reality and i am working as hard as i could, then i am also keeping up with battling my skin chronic disease etc,..

and despite other things like dealing with depression and anxiety, i don't really feel lonely cause i am not lonely,

but again i am a homebody i used to have tons of friends but i get bored and tired of friends very easily and i don't believe in things like "real friends" i still have one childhood friend who is still in contact with me now for like over 16 years but still we are not really close lol, and they are mostly just business relationships lol

and i never found a friend in real life that share the same kinda interests as i do, which is why i prefer staying alone doing my own things and hobbies etc,..

i feel like i have a very strong connection to my virtual world, i can't just erase the virtual world from my head i can take some short and long breaks but i can't just erase it,.

I'm a teenager and I feel the same! I can't watch anything without seeing me being a part of it rolleyes.gif And yes, I have my own virtual world! You're not alone! :) I have the habit of talking to myself, and that may be why I have a big connection to my Virtual World... I like to feel like I'm a superstar or a super famous actress with so many famous friends (I'm FAR from being these things) and that's funny hahahah I think you have your own world is one of the best things ever. Our mind is just amazing. Don't worry, you just have a imaginary persona (in the best way possible!).

I have depression and this year it's been so much worser... so my imaginary world makes me feel better with it (I'm not a lonely person, like, I have my friends but I feel lonely sometimes even if I'm not alone).

I feel u! Thanks for sharing this, I really love ur post laugh.png

if the connection is so strong you might become like me, i am 25 years old now lol,

i don't know if you ever tried using some tools to make your imagination functions better, for me one of the best ways is music, especially at night when i go out for a walk with my headphones on! the moment music starts my imagination kicks in, also before going to sleep. cause music or even white noise - meditation - asmr stuff helps getting rid of unwanted stress from real life so i can only focus on my imagination to the point of going through some kind of spiritual relaxing kinda feeling!

and my virtual world went through some up and downs especially when i became an adult and started working and shit lol and at some point i stopped watching anime and drama and shut down my virtual world but as soon as i came back to watch anime i switched on my virtual world again,.

but i think my character in the virtual world is more famous than yours jCQ9zCm.png

Hmm, now that I think about it, I haven’t even tho I dont have the most desirable life irl (kinda similar to yours; no friends). Tho my mine is pre occupied with the scenes from the stories I came up with (I like to write) so it kinda counts as another reality of mine but not really ‘virtual’
