edit: clarification. i never implied or bashed anyone- specifically either tao or sm. what i meant in this post is that, tao has been a chaebol his entire life and he has not experienced living like a trainee. he lived in a mansion or a nice condo, had nice meals and free time with friends with money to spend. for him to live opposite to what he has experienced his whole life is really difficult and i COMMEND him for that.

I don't watch the show, but I saw the video and really liked the way he put everything into perspective. Especially what he said about being a good human being above all. It must be super hard being an idol, the market is crazy and you can get lost in the competition, so every group needs to be united, even if one person is more popular than the other. I really dislike this mentality nowadays that you should do whatever you can and step on anyone if you have to to get what you want. It's important that they hear it from someone who's been in their situation that debuting isn't the end all of everything; being a decent person, a nice team member, helping each other out, being thankful, that's more important in the end.

 

He reminded me of my high school teachers who tried really hard to make us understand how important it was to study, even if it seemed like a waste of time at the moment. You can see the frustration of someone who's only trying to help with their experience and still being ignored.

SM had many Chinese trainees judging by how many have come out of the SM's dungeon to become actors or work  in music in China after SM did not put them in groups. Most of these trainees are from wealthy families maybe signed confidentiality deals with SM maybe they are now in bigger agencies than SM in China so no need to fear. None came out to complain about lack of food.

SM used to pay a weekly allowance for every trainee. The values are speculations.

There are Korean trainees who worked to pay for most basic expenses when SM did not but SM did pay for accomodation. Kris or Luhan I don't remember which one complained about having to work to pay for noodles while dorm were paid by SM.

SM paid for accomodation for all trainees who did not live close to Seoul. Money to pay for the basic and cheapest food should not have being a problem if the trainee require it.
