gno 1,887
2010 was my 1st year for kpop and apparently that year was pretty quiet compared to the years before Teen Top and Infinite were two of the 1st group i actually witnessed debuting my 1st thoughts of Teen Top ~ "why is there only 3 actually in the song when there's 6 of them? and 1 out 3 sings almost everything?" ~ "they look like a ripoff of 2pm" ~ "who's this Shinhwa guy who made them?" ~ "compared to infinite they seem like they can't really sing." ~ "Teen Top.....if only they really knew what could come with that name." ~ "CAP, Korean Taylor Lautner" =========== 1st thoughts of Infinite ~ "they debut song is wack compared to Teen Top" ~ "the members are ugly" (i dont think this now ofc lol) ~ "they are amazingly in sync for a new group" ~ "i wanna like them but Teen Top just has the better debut song" ~ "why does this member (L) have the ugliest haircut ever?" ~ "Hoya is by far the hottest member of this group" =========== What did you guys think about these two groups when they came out??? if you actually witnessed it? how far they come since then.. Sarah ☆ 4,630
oh I miss these days. I used to be so obsessed with Infinite and I always thought Teen Top were a bunch of cuties.
itsquinnbro 1,628
I've never seen a Teen Top MV before so I can't say... but I thought Infinite had nice dancing, but thought this song was horrible

footballfina 29,566
Infinite was the first non SM group I ever stanned (oh the irony) - their debut song is still perfect, that choreo but tbh looking back, Myungsoo was a HUGE reason I paid attention in the first place *shrug*
devilvp 7,723
I love 1 group & really like the other now so but my first impressions of them.... oh joy Teen Top: what kind of name is this? teen top.... Their hair is Niel needs to stop dominating the whole song Chunji is kind of cute~ everyone else looks 15 Infinite: I actually like them.... they're cute~ L is very cute~ bias material Sungjong is giving me feminine vibes I warmed up to Infinite pretty quick actually~ at least compared to my other groups
dopamine 4,805
I don't think I witnessed their debut, but I did start liking them around the same time not too long after (January of 2011). I was a little obsessed with Teen Top, thought Supa Luv was catchy, but something about Infinite pulled me in more. Their teamwork, their humility, the fact that they were your just your average boys. Nothing about them screamed "idol", and I liked that, it was different. I guess I knew from the beginning that Infinite was the group I was going to stan forever. It was just a feeling. Haven't looked back since. GratedCheese 464
I remember laughing at Teen Top's name.. (lol) but I had the same thought as you, why was there like only one guy singing haha. I liked WooHyun at first for Infinite, because I was never attracted to Hoya due to his dumb ugly hairstyles in the first 2 yrs. I had some interest in them since BTD because of their awesome choreos and synchronization. It was only 2 months ago that they took my heart away lol, especially Hoya . jsa 1,139
Teen Top I just remember because Niel completely carried them and I think it was L.Joe in that music video is playing a violin completely incorrectly and it looked ridiculous. And Infinite I remember their m/v showing like.. as many modes of transportation possible.
mika613 843
I remember the weekly idol episodes of teen top and infinite both groups are hilarious at that show they never fail to make me smile especially during random play

Guitargeekette 5,960
For me Infinite was the Epik High Boy Band which amused the heck outta me. I did think they were in sync and I liked the guitar riff of Dashi Dorawa. Teen Top's engrish amused me "crap maaaaaaaaaaaan~~~" but I liked the song. Was pretty proud of Andy lol. tom_306 563
Teen Top -Like the song, thought it was solid -Wondered why there was mainly one guy doing most of the singing -Thought they were all too young to debut so I couldn't get into them. (I'm a noona to all of them) Infinite -I had an idea of who they were since I had watched YAMO -Really liked the song. It was very different than everything that was being put out at the moment. -Their in-sync dancing really caught my eye -Really liked the Michael Jackson vibes of their outfits and choreography -Thought the only good looking member was L -Decided they were worth my time and sought more info on them

sunggyuluver 6,762
Teen Top - I actually liked them a lot when they debuted. Infinite - Sadly I didn't know of them until jan 2013. -first song I listened to is The Chaser after searching Hoya cause of dynamic black -instantly biased them -they're the only group I watch their variety appearances. -thought their title tracks sounded different than the other groups I listened to. 25%Cotton 7,133
i didn't like teen top's debut or supa luv (though i do now). took me until perfume and then crazy to start appreciating them for being the fab male version of orange caramel (essentially, lol). with infinite, i missed their debut and repackage, but i watched BTD and some of the lives and i thought they were really impressive. their synch was amazing and they sounded good while doing it. i almost didn't follow up on them, though, because they had an almost robotic stage presence. though i still liked them, i was also following a lot of other boy groups around that time that i no longer follow and i felt a bit bitter that infinite danced and sang better than most of them, lol. my friend was very openly impressed, though, so i decided to check them out a little bit more and watched an interview (the pops in seoul one). though in general they were attractive, i didn't think they were really irresistibly so in that styling... but i don't know what it was, i kept coming back. thinking back, it was probably hoya (this was back when i still really disliked rapping but i didn't mind hoya's and thought he was awesome) and woohyun's singing. kept watching their lives which were great and then i think what REALLY solidified me as a fan was when Nothing's Over hit. loved the music video to death. it was unique and artistic and the styling was softer and less extreme and i loved their unique sound. that's also when i noticed sunggyu <3 and sunggyu has flawfree taste in music so that was another reason. dragonfly0915 3,245
I didn't really start paying attention to Kpop as a whole until 3 days after Infinite debuted (mostly followed Suju at that point and had heard a couple other groups), I never really thought about it but I guess they actually were the first group I followed from debut My first impression was that their syncrhonization was definitely beyond anything I had ever seen...I didn't know their names at the time but I think the only ones that made an impression on me were Sunggyu and possibly Dongwoo and Hoya? Maknae line was nonexistent in my eyes and honestly looking back I'm still not sure why Myungsoo or Sungyeol could have been visuals then because let's be real they all looked tragic and/or unremarkable save for Hoya and Woohyun didn't start making an impression on me until She's Back. I didn't love the song but I liked the album as a whole and I decided I needed to make sure to watch for future releases--which I did, and Evolution hooked me for good. Teen Top took me longer to warm to because I honestly did not like Clap or Supa Luv at first (I like them now but still don't love them), plus they're all 2+ years younger than me and I just wasn't interested in a group full of jailbait I warmed to them over time though after No More Perfume on You, and I've acquired an affectionate noona attitude toward them EDIT: Anyone else who was around in those days feel like none of the rookies that year got any attention except for CNBlue and miss A? I mean, compared to how many people were already fans in 2011 when B1A4, Block B and Boyfriend debuted it's like no one even cared Infinite or Teen Top existed. tom_306 563
EDIT: Anyone else who was around in those days feel like none of the rookies that year got any attention except for CNBlue and miss A? I mean, compared to how many people were already fans in 2011 when B1A4, Block B and Boyfriend debuted it's like no one even cared Infinite or Teen Top existed. That was pretty much what was happening around that time. People only cared about CNBlue and Miss A since both of their debuts were really good, their songs did really well. In fact I was beginning to stan CNBlue myself before I ditched them for Infinite. I felt bad about ditching them but at the time it's not like they needed my support. Infinite on other hand no one cared for them. Ze:A and dalmation also debuted around the same time I believe but they also didn't receive much attention. Ze:a debut in particular was just far from impressive, I will say that much.
