It’s already been deleted but I screenshotted this rumor that they will film mv soon. Perhaps by the end of the month? Anyway we’ll know once hair colors change lol (unless it’s for yixings mv or something)662cffa7296084cc8494670ad529e198.png

There's also speculation it's an mv for yixing, because usually exo doesn't use backup dancers in their mv. The OP also questioned this, while stating her info is true, but she doesn't want to cause any problems so she deleted the original tweet.

I like how everyone who replied to her said 'GET MORE INFO' laugh.png

It might be possible that it's for yixing mv, since he does do 2 mv usually. He most likely shot one in Perth (like how he did I Need You in Paris), and now in Seoul (like how he shot Sheep in Seoul).

I’m not sure if it’s a new photo and I’m also not sure what it’s implying but perhaps it could be new..?

The last time we saw Sehun was a fan acc saw him in a office and he went into a meeting room...

But he’s wearing the same exact outfit from here so there’s a chance it’s just an old pic:

I'm going to assume the worst and say 'we young' mv making. It should be out in Sept, before cb.

Also, how do you find these people? *thinks Anki is actually a saesang*

theres only chanhun in the picture right?? or someone else?

maybe you are right... though i dont know if we young will hv an MV though. (unless SM is testing waters for a new subunit)

I might be a saesang ??? well  sshhhhh raepfaceplz.png

What kind of video do you think EXO will be having this comeback?

So the thing is SM entertainment often tends to share music video directors among its groups.

Full Fanmade List

In 2015, All pathcodes and CMB ,LMR and Sing For You were directed by VM Project. They also directed all of Taemin and Shinee's 2015 stuff, RV Dumb Dumb and F(x) 4 walls.

In 2016, The director for all RV music videos was from VM Project, VM Project also directed Monster and Lotto by EXO and NCT the 7th sense.

In 2017,

NCT Limitless was directed by Flexible Pictures, who had also directed Hey mama by CBX .

They then directed Kokobop.

https://www.instagram.com/flexiblepictures_/

Meltmirror directed EXO Power, and  perhaps worked alongside the people related to producing NCT Dream We Young : VIDEOKID

Peekaboo was directed by FantazyLab who also directed SNSD Holiday

https://www.fantazylab.com/

DOMCAKE directed BoA's CAMO and Taemin's Move.

Limitless Japanese version was directed by ETUI Production, who also directed Taeyeon's I got love, Taemin's Thirsty and VIXX Shangri La.

Seong Chang won directed Taeyeon Fine, Red Flavor and Universe.

2018: SM ENTERTAINMENT IS AGAIN FOLLOWING A TREND THIS YEAR.

The directors of SJ LoSiento and Boa Nega Dola are not known, but they seem to be directed by the same people.

To know about EXO though, it is best to take hints from RV, NCT and SHINee.

Bad Boy was directed by the Kokobop people (Flexible Pictures)

CBX Blooming Day was directed by VM project again. (the only SM video they have directed this year so far.)

The NCT Empathy comeback videos were directed by people from GDW production house, who also directed some BTS 2017 videos

https://instagram.com/gdw_official/

I am unable to find who directed SHINee's comebacks... but  I have a feeling Good Evening was by the same people who directed NCT's Yestoday (or maybe they used the same set imstupid.png to shoot it)- Daniel Jon

There is also another new name director - Jinooya
He directed NCT Dream Go and Ten's New heroes.

I was unable to find who directed Red Velvet's Power Up.

Another thing to note: SM has never to my knowledge shared an MV director with JYP entertainment. However, VM Project have directed videos for acts from YG - IKON, WINNER and Blackpink Whistle.

Looking through the catalogue, I was surprised to find so many videos which I thought were by the same people, came from different directors.
Maybe the thing in common is not the directors, but the stylists and art and set designers.

Personally, I feel VM Project are awesome but overused in kpop now.

This year, with EXO, I would love to see Daniel Jon (they have a nice sense of camera perspective )

or ETUI (I love their graphics and colors)

not found of KoKoBop MV, idk what exactly, but it's lacking something... And many other "aesthetics" MVs too (from other group and companies). Like, that's just not it. There is well put aesthetics things, and not. Like.... there are different box MV, but some of them were "meh" and some of them were godly Overdose. And fore the title track MV should be replayable, I mean, you should want to watch it not because yoy want to see every mole of every member, but bc something just works for you there, you just pleased to see certain colors and lights with certain sound and music...

I can;t exactly say what I want from MV, but, yeah, I want it to catch my attention and feelings, I want it to be well balanced and maximum appealing from in terms of visual and and perception of visual+sound. Or maybe it could be something smart or with plot (like, real plot, not asthetics+vague hints and scenes). Or it could be only visual based, but very dynamic and\or relecting the music|sound. Like...i dunno,,, like the best anime openings?  (Higurashi no naku koro ni opening comes to mind, for example).

Right, it should be captivating or overwhelming!

I dont mind the kkb mv... I think it was the weird drop in the song that throws people off about the entire cb, I also liked the first minute of Power... until it became very childish.... I mean... a little bit of choreo wouldnt have hurt... idk what SM was thinking with that MV ..the graphics looked very silly in some shots... i have to stop myself from cringing everytime.

anyways... i guess... it was something new so...

I like MVs to have a clear cinematography, good editing and replayability. Too many aestetic shots are recipes for a headache. Call me Baby was really good in that sense.

I used to think I'm as bored as you, searching for news in twitter, but you've taken it to another level za5g21G.png

I like VM Project, Blooming Day is such a good mv and song, and their past work are amazing too. So I'd either choose them or Jon. I really do like Shinee's mv this year.

I like RV songs, but their mv are not my thing unimpressed.png

I really liked Boa's mv, the choreo looked nice. that's what I missed in Kokobop's mv: the dance scenes. I mean they were obviously there but the way they were cut was so idk awkward? Like: oh the drop starts, here's the choreo! Jk, cut! look at the washing mashine! Then they include choreo shots when Minseok comes to the front in which there's not much dancing, then during the breakdown when there's a lot of dancing: oh look floating chairs. Like whyy, the way it was cut annoyed me so much laugh.png

And the moment I saw Power's leaked dance practice I immediately thought of those (sometimes cringy) cameras that once sm would use all the time, the ones when the time kinda slows down and it spins too. just imagine how awesome would Jongin's solo dance break with the spin look shot like that? rlytearpls.pngrlytearpls.png

The squarey format aside I liked parts of Electric Kiss' mv, it kinda moved with the song for example the moment the chorus starts Kai just comes out like BAM because the way it's shot has an impact on the viewer, or the rap parts with those attached cameras, the mv moved with how the rap sounded idk I thought it looked cool laugh.png

We're getting a repack?

hopefully the album and the repackage are as separated as possible. like Full album in September and Repackage in late December.

It's impossible for September, even if snsd comes on Sept 13 (10 days after dream). 10 days after sept 13 would be during Chuseok, and I don't think SM is stupid enough to have them comeback on Chuseok week.

It's probably around sept 26/early Oct and then repack in early/mid Dec? Rv's bad boy was around 2 months after peek a boo.

Really neat summary thanks anki chuplz.png I'd love to see metaoloz finally handling exo MV and not just VCR. He's great with action sequences and tracking shots, which would be great if the MV is plot-driven. Shin Hee Won who did Russian Roulette and Lucky One is good too, and fantazylab which did the godly Secret MV is an auto yes.

I was gonna say Shindong too but I realise SJ would be busy prepping for comeback :imstupid:
