This is just my opinion but I honestly don't see why people are so angry... They couldn't have possibly come back any earlier this year bc of their solo schedules and even if they had somehow managed to pull it off it would've been super tiring for the members and people would've been on sm's case about overworking them. Like yes we all hate sm and they're totally useless when it comes to promoting exo but it's really hard to make the members' current schedules work. I get that people are angry about the possibility of exo getting just one comeback this year cause we're used to getting a full album + repack + winter album but let's see how it goes. Maybe they just didn't put it in the presentation ? Maybe they have something else planned ? I say let's wait and see how this comeback goes before we start throwing hands. I really don't like the way some exo-ls on twitter are attacking other sm groups and starting arguments about who's more relevant or who deserves more attention... The 2013 exo-l behaviour jumped out lmao

I know you think Marz is usually only bulshitting, but once he said that higher-up in SM thinks that we enjoy Japanese discography more so korean albums should be more like Japanese ones and ths scares me so fucking much, no hate, Electric Kiss suprematists, but Korea disco was always superior and their main sound was always R&B, if SM scrapped it for trashy edm japanese discography-style mess, then, I'm out

I'm really worried. Marz is annoying but he put out some real bops and the fact the he got only one song out of 9/10 when they worked on more than that, is shady and scary, I won't ever forgive them for fucking up their best sounds, hun. What if they will rush it gain and fill the lbum with random old demos and UUUGHHHHH bitch

Also I love that mentality, like "let's just see, maybe they prepared something this time. maybe they planned something else, let's not get to conclusions" - all these expectetions about SM doing "something this time" are always bound to fail... they never "planned something else". They planned another album, with stripped down promo - standart pack for EXO comeback, that's all. 

Just...don't expect anything, just don't. SM are not smart, they don't really know how to do things right, and they won't ever go extra miles for EXO anymore, it's not 2013 or 2015, they have NCT to sell and promote and prepare ne girl group for debut, so. Just keep buying them acrylic rings and maybe we will ba lucky enough to get one comeback (at least basic one) until most of the boys will be enlisted.

Idk i just feel SM atm has just SOOOO MANY active GROUPS... some comebacks get treated secondary and overlapped with more anticipated comebacks. .. it is kinda inevitable but also pointless.. since in the greed of putting out more material for their concerts, SM starts giving out half assed concepts to its older groups(Like S*SD' last cb, S*Ju since 2015?, Shin**'s this year comeback series). I just hope that's not the case with EXO.

 

On the other hand the R*V and N*T spam recently might go in the opposite direction, leading to oversaturation. Sometimes you have to give ppl a chance to miss you. In that sense, EXO has an advantage.

However, like I said, all of this 'exclusivity' strategy falls apart if the wait is NOT worth it and they vanish as soon as they appear.Also, the fact that the rumors of enlistments are making it even a more painful wait, (besides the constant suspense and drama about OT9). Yeah, its only a matter of time the pot boils over and its gonna get ugly for SM family.

You are scaring me here. If SM fucks up exo's flawless discography, knifes will be out.

 

But SM does have a lot of foreign composers they buy songs from. I read this interview recently about some of them who worked with sm. What if sm liked ldn noise and their songs fill the album?adda is not going to be happy.

Yep he said he originally had a lot on the album but they were scrapped (if this is tru) and he also said he they had the title track and they lost it (was supposed to sound like kokobop + CMB or sumn)

 

Imma keep it real. I hated the kokobop breakdown so I don’t really mind that he lost the title/has less songs on it. And perhaps this gives us room for more exo participation in the album (lyrics,production...etc) since he isn’t monopolizing it anymore. And there are lots of producers who have made amazing tracks w/o marz (shout out to blooming days albums!!) so I’m actually a bit more optimistic if not happy there was a change lol

Also marz kinda said that album will be R&B filled, but now seems like the scrapped it too? 

damn, pls, fuck promotions, variety, reality, just let the album be a bomb, EXODUS or The War level or better. This is only thing I ask

 

just adding this: look at credits and note which songs Marz (MZMC) worked on, then look me in the eyes and say you are not sad that most songs of their production were scrapped.

I kmow he is not main producer on most of them, but he still worked on one of the best songs there and in new albums most of his projects were scrapped, ok? yeah, but he worked on many and one of the best songs in The War AND Universe, now he worked on several songs too, I suppose they were really good too (bc there is a clear pattern if we include Universe), and he pretty much works on music of certain styles_or_feel (IMHO there, agree), and all his new works were scrapped. 

For me it sounds like "The Eve, Going Crazy, Sweet Lies, Fall, ect. little R&B sisters and brothas were scrapped" and it's damn sad at the very least. 

I hope those stupid ass SM higher ups will se one day what we, fans, hype the most from EXO dyscography. Suprisingly, it's not Drop That or Coming Over

um   Yeah some songs are cool and some are great during concerts because they also have hype choreo like Run This but I can't imagine an album full of only songs like that

He said WHAT now ??? Not to be controversial but I CANNOT BARE to listen to their japanese discography. It's all just so... subpar. The vocals are all horribly edited and autotuned, the production of the songs is hideous and the lyrics just take me to a whole another realm of second hand embarrassement lmao

Im tryin to say that Marz know exactly what we like the most, he knows how we like it, he knows how to produce for EXO. That's IMHO, of course, but that's how I feel, I liked MOST of the songs he produced for EXO so far and I was pretty much happy he wroked on several other songs, bc it meant I'll get Going Crazy and Sweet Lies level of perfection. 

(tho in my faves from Blooming days are marzless)

But maybe it's jsut me. 

 

 

Also I wante to tell you note producers from Countdown (minus LDN noise) ans beware if their names come to EXO's K-albums, but guess what, it already happened with CBX K album (ok, I am being dramatic and it's only one name, BUT).
