Tbh I'd take a winter special album over a repack anyday. EXO repacks haven't been all that much as of recently (Growl and LMR were awesome, but Lotto and Power were kind of ehhh... at least I got She's Dreaming out of Lotto's hot mess lmao), since SM tends to get lazy with them. Not to mention winter albums are unpromoted, so the boys will also have more time to rest instead of dealing with the awful camera work and shitty sound system of the music shows. But oh well, my thirsty ass will take whatever they give me.

 

Also, part of me is lowkey hoping EXO will give this big fuck you to the media and all the shitty awards shows (*cough*MAMA*cough*) and just comeback in November/December with a sexy jazzy RnB jam plus the actual album of the year and slay everyone's asses lol (I know it will never happen but a girl can still dream).

I don't know what is gonna happen but I hope it all works out.. I am tired of worrying more than SM employees over the next comeback.

I've lost all hope for a Christmas comeback... I'll miss the glorious winters with EXO 

I feel like we're extra anxious for this cb because of the enl*st*ng (ughhh I'm crying already), but SM is giving zero fucks lol. I'm trying to stay positive, EXO is still SM's main cash cow and, as shitty as they are, they probably still care (at least a little bit)... But with all this talk about delaying, changing, Marz bullshitting (or not, idek), my nervous system is about to combust. I miss EXO's music so damn much, I'm literally hanging by my last thread (which is probably Blooming Days, what an album, and their older discography).

 

I attempted to sit through MAMA once a few years ago and I failed lol. I only really check EXO or IU's performances (sometimes, not even that). Korean award shows suck. Also, I haven't voted for a while, I know it's not worth it, and the blatant fuckery that happened during MAMA 2017 further proves my point (the way they were so shameless about it made it even worse). I don't want EXO anywhere near those venues, they have much better ways to spend their precious time for sure.

I really liked Boa's mv, the choreo looked nice. that's what I missed in Kokobop's mv: the dance scenes. I mean they were obviously there but the way they were cut was so idk awkward? Like: oh the drop starts, here's the choreo! Jk, cut! look at the washing mashine! Then they include choreo shots when Minseok comes to the front in which there's not much dancing, then during the breakdown when there's a lot of dancing: oh look floating chairs. Like whyy, the way it was cut annoyed me so much

 

And the moment I saw Power's leaked dance practice I immediately thought of those (sometimes cringy) cameras that once sm would use all the time, the ones when the time kinda slows down and it spins too. just imagine how awesome would Jongin's solo dance break with the spin look shot like that?

The squarey format aside I liked parts of Electric Kiss' mv, it kinda moved with the song for example the moment the chorus starts Kai just comes out like BAM because the way it's shot has an impact on the viewer, or the rap parts with those attached cameras, the mv moved with how the rap sounded idk I thought it looked cool

I read EXO's section of the article (since I know Korean) and it said full album, repackage album, 등 (a.k.a etc). Whereas for Red Velvet, it only said they were releasing another mini album. So, maybe we're getting a winter single instead of an album (like in 2014)? Maybe they're releasing it with the Elyxion dot live album, like they did with the Lost Planet?

song wise Power wasn't what people expect from EXO but the bsides are lit. i feel like Sweet Lies was meant as a title song.

 

 

 

 

 

Oooh that would be cool. Maybe the overall feel of the album will fit the fall/winter? Universe wasn't very Christmassy, it sounded like an album they could've released during the fall lol. Since they're supposedly coming back during October, we might get something different this year (makes me feel better about the scheduling).

 

I was disappointed with Power as a song, I feel like it could've sounded really cool if they'd taken the production more seriously (it sounded pretty epic in the first teaser). LDN Noise has this tendency to go overboard in producing, imo he should've toned it down a bit with Power. Sweet Lies (a.k.a eargasm heaven) and Boomerang were quite great tho.

Lmao, when I mentioned a November cb, I didn't expect it to actually become a reality. Well, at least we're finally getting a non-summer cb, personally, I'm really excited about it being in the fall (and not needing to worry about to shitfests that call themselves award shows). I'm hoping for some dreamy R&B jazzy tunes, since fall is the perfect season for that kind of sound (we haven't heard Kyungsoo's singing for such a long while now, unleash singer Soo!).

 

I really, really, really would give everything for a winter album tho, there's no Christmas without EXO (watch me refuse to give up hoping just to end up disappointed). Instead of making a repackage, SM should just put more songs in the main album and give us 2 M/Vs. I've already mentioned this before, but since winter albums are always unpromoted, the boys wouldn't need to go on music shows and all that crap, just enjoy the holiday season with their fans. Imo, it would be the best option for both EXO and Eris, but it's SM we're talking about, so I shouldn't expect too much.

 

That whole plan thing is giving me anxiety tho, there's still RV and Taeyeon after SuJu and NCT (plus NCT China, but they ain't promoting in SK), why, why, why does SM insist in doing this cramming crap??? I don't understand, do they genuinely enjoy procrastinating or smth?? Three comebacks in September?? When you had the entire month of July free?? I know SM will half-ass EXO's promotions if they make them overlap with NCT, so I genuinely hope the cb is either late October or early November, but I don't want them to overlap with RV or Taeyeon either...

I have some faint sliver of hope we can still make oct 1st

 

1. The coming soon hashtag ends sept 30 (so I guess we get a new hashtag after)

 

2. Suju is on a separate label so it doesn’t affect other cbs and exo will probably overlap and end promotions right before nct (meaning a week of music shows)

 

3.exo has already filmed the mv and practiced choreo. It’s now up to the post production length

Maybe the end of the hashtag thing means the start of the teasing period? I don't want EXO to go in early October, since it's in two weeks and the cb hasn't even been announced yet... Also, they'd overlap with NCT and SM would most likely half-ass their promotions, like they always do with their older groups. I would prefer late October, so that RV and Taeyeon can go in November (hopefully, well-spaced). But, apparently, Taeyeon has a concert in late October, and she might have to release her album before (unless she spoils it during the concert) so this kind of trashes my hopes too... I really don't want EXO to overlap with either. At this point, I'd rather they release a full-length winter album, since it seems like NCT China will be debuting in December, and we won't have to worry about them lol. This is why SM should've planned the comebacks differently, but oh well, what can we do.

Taeyeon should be near her concert on Oct 20/21, so maybe Oct 22 or the week before, and her stans said she might not even promote cos she has an asian tour coming up. But I still think SM will let her promote on shows at least 1-2 weeks.

 

I think Exo is early november, assuming RV isn't next. SM did say that they don't even know the date, which means it's better for them to push out everyone and leave exo in the end so it has enough momentum. I have delusional hope that even tho SM wants to push NCT more, idt they're stupid enough to not let exo have 2 weeks of their own. I mean, even Shinee got their one month peace, and they're enlisting too.

 

I think the schedule is going to be:

That's a load of comebacks in October. That sounds really plausible, but I'm kind of afraid SM will overlap EXO and RV, since they were dumb enough to sort of do it last year. If they comeback in November, the repackage would definitely be in January next year (if we get one lol), since SM always releases them around 2 months after.

Tbh I'd rather have a January 2019 cb at this rate, like how SNSD did I Got A Boy. It was so iconic to see the teaser after the new year started. I've never seen another group be able to pull a new year cb like SNSD, and there'd be enough hype if Exo decides to do this,

On a more positive note, the rumours about Pathcodes and EXODUS and whatnot are feeding my delulu self. I really want it to be true, it would be the most epic shit ever (and that fact that all of that is supposedly happening during the fall makes me even more excited, imagine EXODUS' classy R&B sound during this season). I know I shouldn't hope for so much, but all this secretiveness is making my expectations rise sky high. Above anything, I want this to be the best EXO comeback ever (which is gonna be hard, since all of their comebacks are gold lol), with great music, awesome choreography, amazing M/V(s? hopefully) and our boys genuinely enjoying it with the fans.

 

Also, since we're all having a hard time, I would just like to remind everyone that the last time we had to wait this long for a main comeback was the hiatus after their debut, and the wait ended up being more than worth it. Out of that, we got XOXO (an iconic album, some of the songs in that album remain amongst  EXO's most well-known b-sides), their first million-selling album and SK's first in years, and, a few months after, EXO's biggest hit song, Growl, which shook the entire nation. So, let's just hope they're preparing something amazing, that will be more than worth this long wait, and just listen to their older discography (except for KKB and Power ofc lol) and solo projects.

So I just checked EXO schedule and the have 4 groups appearances in October. Now WTF don't tell me they are still gong to be performing Kokobop. Why not let the boys rest and prepare for their new album? I know the boys have got to be tired of performing that song as well. And I got to laugh at some folks claiming that SM is pushing back the schedule because of the boys individual schedules. Since when has SM give a damn about their artist health? Plus their the ones who make the schedules. They knew how long Suho's musical was going to run. SM should have gave us a spring/summer release and if they wanted to do the repack it could have been in November. 

 

Imo, spring might be difficult bc of CBX's releases in SK and Japan. Anything between June-September would've been fine tho. Repackage in August-November, since it always takes two months for SM artists. I wouldn't be this bothered if they weren't planning on release a repack, but they apparently stated they want to do it and MORE. If they want to release so many things, they should've planned more in advance.

 

Obviously, the comeback is going to be great (it's always great), but I don't want SM to rush anything and overwork them even more, seeing how they're planning on somehow releasing a repack this year. Unless that whole 'release both at the same time' is not bullshit ofc (even though I badly hope it is).

Or maybe OT8 performing bops like Black Pearl, Let Out The Beast or Transformer, or sexy jams like My Lady, Thunder or Playboy, that would be awesome. Finish it off with one of their iconic title tracks. So much to choose from an incredible discography.

They even announced SNSD's ember solo debut already which is in 17th October, so I have two thoeries:

1)Comeback is in late October

2) SM don't give a fuck to the point they will announce comeback one week prior or something and it will be early October

Tbh first week of October sounded pretty impossible to me from the start. SM has always announced EXO's comeback roughly a month before the date and, even with all this contract dispute shit, EXO are STILL their most anticipated act. I doubt SM would shoot themselves in the foot like that, as dumb as they can get. This is probably EXO's last comeback with at least Minseok (and I wouldn't put it behind SM to halt group activities and focus on solo stuff as the members en**st progressively), as NCT, while growing, still have a long way before they reach EXO's level (if they even do at all).  The stock drop says it all.

 

Also, SM ALWAYS fucks up 10th year anniversary promotions, and SuJu actually got the short end of the stick. They have been (slowly) getting better, from SuJu's basic ass album design (remember the Paint remakes?) to SNSD's poorly promoted cb to SHINee's project thing. I don't think it has to do with contract disputes (from what I remember, SuJu and SHINee members resigned, nearly half of SNSD didn't), it's SM wanting to focus on their younger acts (a.k.a NCT, in our case) and giving less attention to the older ones so that people will turn to the younger ones. This is not even EXO's 10th anniversary (or anything close to it), so I don't think we should give too much attention to those rumours and be too negative.

But, since it's so early, there's hope for a late October comeback at least. I don't really want the comeback to be in November, that's a bit too late. I just noticed a pattern since last month. SM has been squishing three comebacks in the first half of the month and leaving the rest empty. Also, it's always been one of the NCTs, meaning a newer group, a 'sunbae' boygroup and some sort of SNSD release. Last month, it was NCT Dream (I know it was August, but it was like the last day), Oh!GG and SHINee. This month, NCT-127, Yuri and SJ. So, it would make sense if it were RV, Taeyeon and EXO (not necessarily on that order) in the first half of the next month, which makes me kinda anxious.

(The wait for this comeback is making me overanalyze the most useless shit lmao)
