What I got from my stay in South Korea as a Foreigner.

Okay first of I want to say:

IF YOU WANT TO GO TO SOUTH KOREA GO TO JEJU ISLAND FOR A BIT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! AND DON'T THINK YOU WILL ARRIVE AND ENG SUBS WILL BE THERE FOR YOU.

I went to SK for a nice week with my grandmother. If you guys don't know, I am half Japanese and half Black, making me weeaboo immuneâ„¢ I LOVED staying in Korea! I just loved the atmosphere, it was amazing! I am moving there with my sister next year and got to see the school I was enrolled in!

1st off, YES I WAS BEING STARED AT! If you are foreign, (especially black!) you are guaranteed to be stared at. I have a large behind at yes, it was getting its own fair shares of evils. I did hear someone say, "Ah, pretty" A few times and a few, "Very big" But I was being called many things.

2nd, DO NOT THINK THAT YOU WILL LAND HERE AND MEET KIM TAEHYUNG AT THE AIRPORT! Because some people think that they will see Im Nayeon waiting for their asses- NO. Koreans aren't perfect. They are normal humans, expect everything you would expect to see in any other human~

3rd, Explore. Explore. Explore. If you explore more, you will not regret it.

ANYWAYSSSSS

I am going back soon, I can't wait!

The attention, it was fun being stared at and being called pretty! Thank you!

Food experiences?

Food there was great, there were some street foods that were out of this world! The Noodles and Kimchi were great!

I visited South Korea last year..and i had a similar experience.

Overall Koreans are lovely, it's not like how most of people think here, knets=/= Korean population. they're very friendly with foreigners at i least the ones i interacted with. a lady told me Koreans feel it is very important to be kind and welcoming to foreigners to reflect a good image.

i had my fair share of stares. I'm Arab so i think i looked very different for them, but, all the comments i heard were sweet like" yeoppo" and "woah", they keep on pointing at my eyes and eyebrows...one lady asked me if she can touch my eyebrows....

i mainly was in Seoul and  i love it ! it's my kind of city ! and you're right the idols and the actors we see on TV do no represent how the people look...but netherless they're beautiful people <3

My friend who lives in Korea told me staying in Seoul is ok, people are nice (she's white btw). If you go outside Seoul where there is not a lot of foreigners, you'll have really A LOT of attention. But if you want to live in places where there is already some foreigners, not in touristic places, it won't be rare to hear things like "why do they keep coming" "annoying foreigners" in public places with stares and all.
