Cardi B has a meltdown after Azealia Banks shames her | FULL Backstory

During a visit to The Breakfast Club on Friday (May 11), the always outspoken Banks threw out some major insults about Cardi, calling her everything from an “illiterate, untalented rat†to a "caricature of a black woman."

“Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high,†Banks told the radio show's hosts, referencing Beyonce's 2016 album, Lemonade. “There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B.â€

Banks continued, “I’m just talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with. Like, if my spelling and grammar was that bad, I’d be canceled. If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, we would be ragging on her all day.â€

Cardi B quickly responded to Banks' offensive comments on Instagram -- in both a post of her own, and the comments of another featuring video of the conversation in question. Shortly after, the Invasion of Privacy rapper deleted her entire IG account.

"I'm from the hood. I speak how I speak I am how I am. I did not choose to be famous people choose me! People followed me on Instagram and the people gave me a platform to introduce my talent,†Cardi wrote. “I never asked to be a example or a role model I don't want to change my ways because I'm famous that's why I just mind my business. This is coming from a woman that bleached her skin but want to advocate. GOODBYE. Im not apologizing or kill myself because of who I am.â€

This isn't the first time Cardi and Banks have battled it out online. In September, Banks called Cardi a "poor man's Nicki Minaj," and accused her of using a ghostwriter for her hit song "Bodak Yellow." In response, Cardi posted a video of Banks dancing to "Bodak Yellow" in a club.

why does she put a comma after all her punctuation

I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TYPING A GOOD REPLY AND I READ THIS

But honestly, Azealia is a hot mess. I still cannot get through with her when it comes to her speaking about the most vulnerable people of her own community (also known as POC LGBTQ+).

As much as I don't subscribe to Cardi B as an artist, the criticism she's getting is far too much. It'd be no issue if she was a man. We've got male rappers out here sounding like they're gargling water and it's cool, they suck but we love it anyway, but Cardi B rises and all of a sudden she's the start of hip hop's downfall. No it's been full of crap. We got Remy Ma going to prison for 9 years for attempted murder, she gets out and drops a hit and she's the new queen, everyone's good, she's a saviour.

It's misogyny, it's slut shaming, it's classism, it's all of that.

The thing is though is that the industry says there can only be one female rapper at a time. There can be a spectrum when it comes to male rappers, from hood boogers to conscious thinkers. That being said, Cardi is not the best choice to be at the top for female rappers.

That's not up to artists or us as individuals to decide. Who's popping is who's popping.

I ain't never fucked with Lil Kim or Eve, even kinda sorta slightly, but i aint tell them to get the fuck outta here cause they offend my sensibilities in utterly nebulous ways.

I feel no ways bout Cardi to say that i feel for her or feel against her.

But Azealia is like advanced trash.

And she still out here.

I think that's one reason I love Azealia (besides her gay-pandering music), she's very messy / trollish, but also very intelligent.

Umm, it actually is up to us because we buy the music...

I never though of the term "hood booger" when I thought of Kim or Eve. There was ambition there to be more. Cardi is cool with just being a dumb hood girl, and that isn't cool.

You got a lot of self hatred in you?

There's many many many fucking more options than Azealia's garbage ass self

Everyone that deals with me knows that I love myself and think very, very highly of myself. Many have said that I have a superiority complex, so...

And I do like more people than Azealia. As far as current female rappers go, I do like her the most. Does she top Foxy, my old school fave? Not sure...

Like we out here going "Yeah go off, Miss" just cause she got grammar and is witty?

We really giving her a pass cause of that?

This woman who's

Violent

Homophobic

Racist

And filled to the brim with the most crock shit of religious beliefs.

I don't think she's really homophobic or racist. I have no problem with her being into Santeria. I know plenty of people who practice it.

cardi is also problematic, said tonn of shit and called dark skin women burned roaches.

she used to fight with girls on lhh  . she only gets to be funny and dumb girl in hiphop cuz she isnt dark skin black woman. I dislike azealia but she did state facts when it came to cardi . cardi gets away with a lot of things cuz she is  a lightskin mixed latina.

both of them are trash to me imstupid.png

ehh...its really hard hearing all that from Azealia tbh she's problamatic in her own right, if it was from someone else i would def understand where they're coming from, i think Azealia is just jealous tbh

Cardi is right with one thing, she had a following before Bodak yellow and it was a lot of Black Women who supported her on social media due to Love and Hip Hop.

Again, i think it's weird to come for Cardi for promoting gang culture/unprotected sex...etc when male rappers say and do that shit all the time lmao If you coming for Cardi for that then you gotta come from the entire industry essentially

Banks could've had a career, black women would supported her considering she is dark skinned black woman and she has some actual talent, she had gay following too- she shot both demographics in the foot with her erratic behavior, and being unable to be quiet on social media

Cardi is not that serious, cardi is just having fun- and that's what people like about her. People are buying into her personality more than anything, i wouldn't say the bar is lowered because of cardi rather than its proof HipHop is really mainstream now. Just like Pop music the most talented doens't always win- it's marketing + personality + connections, and then maybe some talent sprinkled here and there lmao Proof is how these lame ass male rappers are becoming popular w/o showing much technical ability- Cardi is not that only one so its weird to target her for it
