The 'Produce 48' contestants are winking away in hopes of becoming the next Park Ji Hoon.

 

In the previous season with the male trainees, Park Ji Hoon, now a member of top boy group Wanna One, gained tremendous attention even before the show started as the 'Wink Boy'. The virality of his wink had a strong impact on his popularity.

And this might be why the contestants of 'Produce 48' were seen profusely winking throughout their "Pick Me" performance for that one legendary moment.

 

On May 10, Mnet finally unveiled the very first "Pick Me" stage of the new season. The girls cheerfully performed the theme song and multiple - I mean, like a whole bunch - were seen winking... and winking throughout the song.
