With two Monday-Tuesday dramas set to finish this week, the battle for viewership ratings continues.

MBC’s “Partners for Justice†averaged 6.7 percent and 8.4 percent nationwide during its July 16 broadcast according to Nielsen Korea. While it saw a slight decrease compared to its ratings last week, the drama continued to be first among its competitors in the same time slot.

Popular among adults, “Partners for Justice†also saw its highest rating yet at 5.1 percent among viewers in their 20s to 40s, which is considered the target audience of most broadcasters. This was the highest rating in this specific age group across all public broadcasting and cable channels. The broadcast brought forth the shocking truth behind the murder case that had remained unsolved for 30 years.

"Investigation Partners" The Serial Killer Is a Detective

On the latest episode of "Investigation Partners", the serial killer from 30 years ago was caught and he turned out bo be a detective.

The only survivor of the Woosung serial killing had been sacrificed. Do Ji-han (Oh Man-seok) and Eun Sol (Jung Yoo-mi) arrived on the site. Ji-han was very angry. Baek Beom (Jung Jae-young) looked through the autopsy. He smelled something and stopped everything. He smelled the body from close and said he smelled gas. Ji-han claimed she didn't smell like that when she was alive and Baek Beom requested a chemical composition check.

The joint investigation headquarters met someone unexpected during the investigation. It was Kim Joon-tae. He said the Woosung killer was after women under 160cm and Eun Sol was lost in thought. She called Baek Beom and told him not to trust the previous profiles. The killer could be taller than they thought. Baek Beom used the smell to come to a conclusion that the killer wasn't in his 50s but his 70s.

Baek Beom started investigating the site. Ji-han narrowed down to a suspect. Baek Beom said what they found wasn't blood but steel dust. There was no blood. Even the teeth weren't right. The killer wasn't a murderer, but a sneaker. That's why he'd run away.

The investigation was back to ground zero. Eun Sol started her briefing. They decided to list up houses that increased in water usage. They checked the pipes in all the houses. Ji-han found evidence in the yard of one of the houses. Someone was watching him from a window. It was Detective Choi. Eun Sol just arrived and realized who it was when she saw the wheelchair. At the same time Ji-han was threatened by Detective Oh. He tried to kill him with a knife, but Soo-ho (Lee Yi-kyung) arrived just in time to save him. Soo-ho yelled, "And you call yourself a cop!"

It was shocking that the serial killer was a detective. He confessed that he made the profile. It was another shock. He could access the research files to look up victims and murder them. The killer had been caught at last.

"Investigation Partners" Jung Jae-young Shocked Over a Baby's Death 10 Years

photo988340.jpg

On the final episode of the MBC drama "Investigation Partners", Baek Beom (Jung Jae-young) went to talk to Lee Hye-sung (Yoon Ji-min) in prison.

Lee Hye-sung said, "Can you take it if I told you? I wasn't going to say anything until the end, but Kang Yong (Ko Se-won) did something very stupid".

10 years ago, Han So-hee (Lee Eon-jung) was pregnant with Baek Beom's child and Kang Yong had asked her, "Do you love Beom so much that you can leave him?" When she said she'd do anything, Kang Yong said, "Then tell him the child is mine. That's the only way".

Lee Hye-sung only told this to Baek Bum now and said, "He was greedy and he killed himself because he couldn't handle it. The baby that died 10 years ago in the accident is yours".
