I buy this album. Night and Day is my favorite. It's sounded like you are in different dimension and this is what I exactly felt when I listened to Doll.

The problem is that the "cute" genre label is arbitrarily attached to MUSIC when 80% of the time people are talking about styling, image, music video, etc.

 

Most of the time what people call "cute" is really just bubblegum pop and that can take on many different sounds and flavors. You can see in that "Rate these 6 cute concept songs" thread that all 6 songs sound very different from each other.
