Can Loona, with more than 4 billion won spent (on November 2016) and around 2 years pre-debut promotion, reach (G)I-DLE debut level of popularity?

It’s so hard to predict anything nowadays. I mean (G)I-dle literally came out of nowhere with no expectations and slayed us all. It’s so hard to get any kind of attention in this saturated market but I would love Loona to come out with a great song like them that is loved by both Koreans and I-fans

Edit: I take it back. Not only internationally but (G)I-DLE are rising in Korea. LATATA just re-entered the charts and slowly picking up!

In fact I'd be surprised if Loona's actual debut didn't eclipse (G)I-DLE's given the amount of predebut MV they've done. The group just speaks to internatonal sensibilities and marketing.

honestly, given that produce101 was two years ago and her solo debut didnt make much waves, i still think g-idle's popularity is a bit surprising and out of nowhere

 

obv it's "soyeon's group" but imo it's more about the song being good than her being the image of the group

this is dumb, of course since Loona has predebut hype and dropped so much stuff before debut . g idle had no hype and most of the people stanning them  like never heard of them before few days ago.

I don't really trust YouTube views because there's so many spam accounts out there. We should look at music sale I think that's really speak volume. 

And as someone mention earlier, I think Loona achieve some success internationally, but not so much in Korea. But i think it's more important to be popular in Korea rather then internationally because of exposure which lead to advertisements, TV shows, and movies.

I do wish Korea have the same taste in music as me though, that way my favorite groups don't have to struggle. LOL

idk cause i'm forever loyal to my rap queen soyeon and i personally feel like no one could top the love/support i have for her. not sure how popular loona is in korea but the international fanbase for them is crazy, so i'm sure they'll have a successful debut regardless

i think they share the same target of demographic, ifans appeal, who are vocal in social media platform.

the thing is, are the hype-crowd will support them by streaming@buying physical@concert?

gidle seems promising so far, but i hope they can grow dedicated fanbase especially in korea.

i can see them becoming 4minute successor.

their concept is really different so I cant tell. I like loonas odd eyes circle concept more than their others, but they might not go for it, so I`m guessing I will like gidle more. because they might have a "cuter" concept, I`m guessing loona might end up more popular.
