Do You Think that J-Pop is Dying a Slow and Painful Death?

M-flo is the one on a crash course tbh... the Japanese music industry is stronger than ever these days.

no.

though their globa/international presence is prob not as strong as it was in the 90's and early-mid 2000's, but it's hardly dying.

kpop is just a copy of jpop and american (western) pop/dance music anyway, eventually it'll run out of steam (it is already starting to anyway).

Great ad hominem attack. My badges have nothing to do with how bad J-pop has become.

Hiphop is part of urban music and no one has sold for shit in 8-9 years. R&B doesn't sell well, either. Sure, the groups in the urban scene still put out music that people like, but in terms of viability and mainstream exposure, it's not doing well.

Indie music isn't J-Pop.

Japan has always had a great underground, but the commercial side of the industry is essentially no different than a huge pile of diarrhea.

I think its improving and getting more creative but maybe that's just me. The average looking 13 year old girl groups with bland music are dying out slowly and surely and more colorful and talented idols and artists are taking their place.
