But from the statement given, it sounds like they're backpedaling abit; basically not a whole lot of concrete proof that he was part of the cult I guess?

I know a few cases where someone believes in God but not religion so more of he doesn't believe in the Church but believes in God and some stuff about the bible. Personally, I find that very confusing but I know a lot of people that are like that but idk about JYP and what his issues are

There are ppl who do believe in God but not part of any religious groups because they feel the teachings are not accurate/ true & fool their followers for money so instead some participate in a Bible study to examine the doctrines. Also, I'm a Christian and we have a bible study once a month & invite people from different sect/ religious groups to listen, ask questions & have a friendly debate. So I don't find this kind of setup fishy/ suspicious.

AhH. Still they're trying to say that they weren't the ones responsible for starting the claims in the first place, which is technically true since these claims came out initially 4 years ago. But still from the sounds of it, seems like they're trying to backtrack a bit probably more so to protect themselves in case JYP were to bring to a lawsuit to against them.
