[AJ] Dispatch's reports on JYP’s alleged cult involvement

Recommended Posts

I havn't seen anyone posting AJ's summary, I thought he highlighted some interesting points especially the cult's beliefs about Jewish people:

______________________________________________________

Article:

In an exclusive report, Dispatch has provided evidence of JYP‘s involvement with the Salvation Sect, which has been described as a cult and has been connected to both the Odaeyang Mass Suicide and the Sewol Ferry Tragedy.

Read about the entire report here, but essentially Dispatch claims that JYP setup a meeting to recruit for Salvation Sect and that the leader of the group attended and the meeting was supported by companies connected to the leader. They also claim that JYP’s wife, who JYP admitted back in 2014 was related to a company connected to the Salvation Sect, helped to organize and manage meetings for the group.

Dispatch also says that the rhetoric JYP used during these meetings mirror the beliefs of the Salvation Sect, such as their view of Jewish people.

Dispatch pointed out that the language he used was similar to that used by the Salvation Sect.

His logic is identical to the teachings of Kwon Shin Chan, who created the doctrine for the Salvation Sect which was spread by his son-in-law, Yoo Byung Eun. Israel’s salvation is the first stepping stone in drawing people into their sect. JYP explained that God chose the Jews because they were the smallest population. He quoted Deuteronomy 7:7, “The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples.†He claims that God still favors the Jewish population even today. He named some of the largest global corporations as his evidence, “All the companies on Wallstreet are owned by Jews. Google, Facebook, Budweiser, Starbucks, they’re all owned by the Jews.†He also quoted Isaiah 60:10, “The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And their kings shall minister to you; For in My wrath I struck you, But in My favor I have had mercy on you.†He claimed the prophecy is coming true even now with former President Obama’s act on Israel’s Iron Dome, “Obama signed off on supporting Israel’s Iron Dome. The US is paying to build a missile system on Israel’s borders. Why? because it says so in the bible, ‘The sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, And their kings shall minister to you.’ The missile systems are the walls.â€

I’m not religious, so I have no idea how common this type of rhetoric is, but man it seems like an bizarre and fetishized view of Jewish people, and the mirroring of the rhetoric used by the Salvation Sect is creeping me out a bit.

Additionally, this section from one of the Dispatch videos struck me as weird.

Yeesh.

“Truthfully, I want to die quickly because I know where I’ll go when I die. I love it. It’s not a what if, it’s the truth. Heaven or hell, it’s been decided. It’s been decided for me. Because people don’t see it, they just live. They think they just need to live then die to know. But to be honest I already know. More than how I know my name is Park Jinyoung, I am certain. Heaven or hell, I am a person who can no longer go to hell. Even if I wanted to go, I couldn’t.â€

——

Meanwhile, JYP took to Instagram to respond, denying involvement in the Salvation Sect.

JYP then posted the testimonial on Twitter.

“A Salvation Sect meeting? I paid money to rent a space and teach a bible study myself, and you’re calling it a Salvation Sect meeting? 100 people gathered to hear my lecture, and out of those, a few people from the ‘Salvation Sect’ came and sat down because they said they wanted to hear my lecture, and you’re saying it’s a Salvation Sect meeting? I, myself personally, and the JYP Entertainment company do not have any relations with the businesses of the ‘Salvation Sect,’ but you’re saying I’m part of the Salvation Sect? How do you plan on taking responsibility for the damage you have done to me and our company and report something like this without checking the truth? Four years ago, my friend and I met twice a week for a bible study, and then the friend’s friend, then that friend’s friend were added, and now our meeting has about 30 people. But you’re calling this a so-called ‘Salvation Sect’ meeting? Since we’ve come to this point, I will post my faith testimony, and please read it over carefully. If there are any legal or ethical problems in it, your coverage is appropriate, but if there are not, you will be taking legal responsibility for all of the damage done to us.â€

Apparently he sought out religion in 2010 after Wonder Girls flopped in America, though I’m not sure how anything in the testimonial is supposed to convince people of anything, honestly.

As for the Salvation Sect, they said that JYP is not a member.

That’s nice and all, but I’m not sure it means much, as I seriously doubt the Salvation Sect would want the microscopes on them that would come with a potentially gigantic scandal. Mainly because when a bright light is shone on groups like this, the government tends to get involved, and that usually doesn’t end well for them.

On May 2, a source from the cult also spoke up, saying, “Park Jin Young is not a believer of our religion. The meeting mentioned in the reports has nothing to do with us.†Another source from the cult added that Park Jin Young has never attended their church or given offerings to them. When asked whether Park Jin Young’s wife is a member of the cult, the source responded, “We saw her once or twice a year after she got married, but we don’t know any specifics.â€

Regardless, this mess definitely doesn’t seem like it’ll end here and I’d like to see what else emerges, but any association with the Salvation Sect is definitely not what anybody wants.

It’s been a lot calmer than what I expected lately even the knet comments aren’t as bad as I expected... very weird

I feel like dispatch has a lot to expose and it isn’t just JYP many other big names will come out too most likely

I don't think it's calm. So far, NB and KPKF have only translated irrelevant nate comments, but on Naver some comments went to 30k. This concerns the Sewol accident, no way are people just calm. But yeah, in the mosaic Dispatch released a lot of photos were blurred which means this is the calm before the storm.

the fetishization of jews isn't limited to cults, it's literally why america with it's Christian leaders, who get elected by evangelicals, supports israel so much.  so i'm not exactly sure.. how that is a sign of anything really.  that just comes off as christian rhetoric.

idk about the rest tho i dont play with crazies

I don't know, I think AJ just highlighted it because the wording itself was very similar, as if it came from the same source preaching material, yknow. 0u0plz.png

I mean, I consider myself a reasonably religious person but this sounds like it goes over religious bounds, no? Sounds like brainwashing to me, cults teaching its members that their lives aren't important and that they're guaranteed heaven so they'll be willing to die for the cult 0u0plz.png

it's anti-semitism disguised as glorification - the idea that jews are in power of everything and are organised in such a way is straight up anti-semitic propaganda that's been a staple since ancient times, even pre-dating christian civilisation, so it's actually not a uniquely 'christian' or american rhetoric.

Bingo, there's a chance that might not be the case here but the more I read about this whole thing the weirder and weirder everything becomes, there's too many things linking jyp to that cult for it all to be a coincidence

that may be, i was just pointing out that its root isn't specific to christians per se, and that this line of thinking that this cult is perpetrating is not in fact, a very positive, or for that matter accurate idea of the jewish community or jewish faith. seems like a perversion of some aspects of jewish traditions mixed with some good ol' fashion "it's da j00s!1" to me... unsure.png anyway! i'm definitely moving far away from this mess now, seems like it's getting weirder and weirder...

In fairness yes it's similar points they try to make and they whole jews flying back is suspicious, but about jews being "Chosen People" is pretty common even in Christianity. It's different though they seem to correlate "Chosen People" as the reasons for success wealth and power of jewish people.

??? This is really strange

"normal " if I can say so christians don't think like that at all. He studied the Bible for such a long time and he came to that conclusion ?

Don't know if the allegations about the Seoul tragedy are real or not but this alone is so creepy.
