Why are some shippers hypocritical?

TWICEs Fairy Godmother

Recommended Posts

Okay, let's just say I am a TaeKook shipper then I make a thread for their moments and it gets a great number of upvotes.

Now I am a let's say... Tzukook ;) shipper then I make a thread, I will most likely get a ridiculous amount of downvotes idontthinksobetchplz.png  All for saying "I think they'd be a cute couple!ahmagahplz.png "?

Why is it like this? Why can't we all ship freely as we please, and no, I am not going to the BangTwice thread BC I think it's dead BC Kami ain't alive no more.

So...?

Why are some of these shippers assholes and have to shit on others ships, even if it's the dumbest shit ever? You don't see me or other BTSXTWICE shippers saying, "This is so dumb" for all I give a fuck about, I actually like it.

Why can't y'all return the favors? Even on other platforms.

I have noticed it's mainly the Jungkook X ____ ships that get shit?

Why?

edit:

One of y'all negged me? Why? For stating an opinion :\?

A lot of people (usually GG stans) hate it when people ship BTS members with girlgroup members (specially if they din't have enough interactions)

Jungkook x _____ ships get more hate because they have more shippers, so you see these ships more often... idk why, but Jungkook stans like to ship him with literally everyone

I feel like people have different definitions of what "shipping" is supposed to be?

To me "shipping" is enjoying the thought of two people being in a relationship. It's an imaginary relationship and obviously has nothing to do with the real world.

But others seem to think of shipping as "finding clues that a relationship is real" and those people tend to get offended over unlikely couples, probably because they think you think that ship is real or something? I don't know, ship wars are the most ridiculous thing ever...

personally i am not into crackships ohdearplz.png

i don't see the point in them because i like my ship to interact

i'm totally fine with btsxgg, if there's at least minimal interaction (like sana/jungkook or taehyung/wheein)

plus it's annoying to me to see the photoshop'd edits

sometimes fans of both boy groups and girl groups dont like heterosexual ships because it reminds them that 1 day their bias will most likely publicly date someone from the opposite sex and they hate knowing they will never have a chance with their idol

I mean most of our ships are us just doing a lot of day dreaming anyway, not much difference there.

I think a huge problem with shipping culture is people not being able to separate their fantasies from the reality of the situation. I've noticed a lot of these posts wind up turning into wild speculation dumps, and people will start over-analyzing every spoken word or the body language of said pairing. Some of these posts breed uncomfortable environments filled with this type of over speculation, and I can't find any enjoyment in that, so I tend to avoid said posts. Though others may choose to be more vocal and downvote? However this is all me speaking from my own experience, and like others have said it could be a lack of interaction thing.

EDIT: what I should have added was that I don't believe all these shipping posts are like that, there are plenty chill ones out there too

Most Kpop fans don't like straight ships. It's just another reminder of the very possible reality that their fave idols could one day end up dating a woman that's not the fans themselves. Shipping them with other male idols, especially with members of the same group is not only "safer" to the jealous fangirl but it also promises more content and cute interactions from them, more things to validate shipping a certain pairing.

Personally, I don't mind people shipping male idols with female idols even if said idols have never interacted. At the end of the day, all ships are just imaginary and if we all admit to ourselves, it's mostly based on our own fantasies and what we want to happen between these idols rather than what's actually happening.

This is the reply I liked the most. I agree with everything you said.

Also, OP, ship whatever you want! At the end of the day, none of them are real, and virtual likes or dislikes mean nothing when it comes to this area in particular :-/.
