So for me the best kpop girl group beat drops are:

D.Holic - Chewy

Miss A - Love Song

2ne1 - Come Back Home, I Am The Best

CLC - Black Dress

Blackpink - Boombayah

Red Velvet - Peek A Boo

EXID - L.I.E.

Mamamoo - Starry Night

F(x) -  All Mine, 4walls

T-Ara - Number Nine

I did post some of the vids here of which you might not be aware of ...

Wait do all of these have beat drops? I see it for LIE, Love Song, Comeback Home for example, but not as much for some of the others.

I'm not an expert anyways. But those are my fav girl group 'beat drops' out of the 'best kpop beat drop vids' I've seen. I myself also have added a few to the list such as Peek A Boo, Black Dress, Starry Night, I Am The Best, Lupin judging by the vids I've watched. From what I've seen, no one sings in beat drops so that instrumentals are clearly heard. The difference from a dance break is that, Beat drops are included in the song at least for twice while dance breaks appear for once in a song. I'm eager to learn if I'm mistaken btw....

oh i'm by no means an expert and i really like the songs you listed too. just going off my impression, i associate drops with this build up that comes before the drop

for example in LIE, the tension kinda starts building at 1:40 and then there's the drop at 1:45

or come back home, where it gets really intense around 1:23 and then there's the drop at 1:26 (chewy and lovesong seem similar to this)

bboom bboom seems different from that to bc though it builds up to the chorus beginning at like 1:02, the actual beat drop is at 1:24 after the chorus

then there's cases like lupin, navillera and russian roulette where i dont really feel like a drop in intensity?

anyways i'm very much a layman so i wouldnt be surprised if i'm totally off smile.png

thanks for the opportunity to listen to all of these bops

So the point is that, a real drop replaces the chorus? Thx for informing. But Black Dress, Peek A Boo, Boombayah, Number Nine still  have beat drops i think. How about Starry Night? The instrumental replaces the chorus but there is no change in beat...

Actually I highkey aimed for this...This is the reason I've placed not so popular/outdated tracks too hurrplz.png

f(x)'s red light

during its release, many complained about the chorus which felt disjointed from the rest of the song. the pre-chorus builds up to the chorus drop

Nine Muses' Remember

When the chorus came in, it is like a song by itself, a sudden contrast to the earlier verses and pre-chorus. this is an under-appreciated brilliant song.

Promotional genius hahah

I kinda meant more that there's a palpable build up to the instrumental drop, which I agree is given in Boombayah black dress and number nine. In the case of Black dress and boombaya, I think the drop is the chorus (both with build ups leading up to the "black dress" and "boombayah"). Similar to Starry night, the build up is already in the chorus ( starts with "Starry night " til ...nareul chwihage mandeureo!) and then the beat drops with the "byeori binnaneun bam". So I guess I mean that beat drops aren't exclusively instrumental? Really I'm not sure

sorry I'm so late in replying lol

Also, are you someone different from the other Kami?

Thx for explaining, I think I got it. I've removed the songs of which did not have drop parts. Also, for Starry Night, the instrumentals can be clearly heard from "byeori binnaneun bam" to  Hwasa's ''ya ya ya'' parts.

No problem with your reply timing. Actually we'd better not spend too much time there smile.png

I'm not the same person with Kami. I've chosen this name just because the way he passionately supports my UB Suzy no matter what and shamelessly promotes her. Also adding Suzy gifs under every single post of him is quite adorable.

Red Light is a true bop tho...

Many fanboys become haters of their bias when their bias starts dating but Kami did not despite Suzy dating 2 men publicly. Also adding Suzy gifs under every single post of him is quite adorable.

Thanks gain for the selection of songs though, you have good taste :)

oh haha I'd been confused. As a say A I do appreciate Kami's enthusiastic support of Suzy but I didn't really see his more.. instigative posts reflected in what I've seen of you :D

Of course I love Suzy, miss A wouldn't be the same without her! It's been amazing to see her blossom into a hardworking, kind hearted star of her own league. Of course I do have frustrations over how miss A were promoted but it never makes sense to take that out on the members.

It's def time for me to get the miss A badge, to dispel any doubts
