BRACE YOUR SELVES GHIBLI FANS

According to The Japan Times, the regional government has now confirmed the theme park will open in 2020. The park is being built in the Aichi Prefecture near Nagoya, where Japan hosted the 2005 World’s Fair.

The Studio Ghibli theme park is being designed as both a traditional theme park and a place where visitors can interact with nature, which is fitting for Ghibli. The Aichi government says the park will include rides and forest trails based on Hayao Miyazaki films such as â€œMy Neighbor Totoro,†“Kiki’s Delivery Service†and “Howl’s Moving Castle.â€

“The park will be dotted with the European-themed brick towers that appear frequently in Miyazaki’s works, as well as giant installations of spider and boar-shaped spirits in imaginary landscapes that evoke Japan’s mythical and idyllic past,†The Japan Times reports.

In time for Miyazaki's premiere of Goro the Caterpillar

The governor said they plan to open it before the Summer Olympics. It will be part of the tourism brochure

it's Boro the Caterpillar, Goro is his son lol. This coincided with the Olympics because it's an in demand project that the Japanese government believes will boost tourism and profit in time for the 2020 Olympics. There was a poll about it voted by foreigners who visit Japan back in 2015 and again in 2016 as to which new attractions should be added and Ghibli theme park was #1

Disneyland is shaking!

I’ll be spending away my lifetime’s savings at all the cafes and restaurants to gorge on every single tasty morsel that are based on the animated films’ food. Especially from that one scene where Chihiro’s parents were literally pigging out. So excited for this!!
