Because that's what they all have done. Or you think XXth century American history is not a history of racism, bigotry etc? The gender, class and race violence Trump wants for the USA is what the USA has wanted for the rest of the world since before we were born. Granted, Trump is one of the worst. OP said it, every other candidate in american history has been just as, if not more, corrupt - it only matters now because of the social climate. if trump had been elected 8 years ago, we wouldn't have seen this complete collapse of american race relations, among other things. there's a LOT more to it than just "white middle class america is racist" btw. people thinking that way - especially upper class whites, throwing their less fortunate counterparts under the bus for moral brownie points - is part of the reason trump was elected. it was a retaliation vote against the democrats' platform of identity politics. so long as people legitimately, unironically hate people enough to throw literal piss at them for being politically left or right, i have no hope for the US as a nation. tl;dr america is over tbh, just call it rome 2.0. give it a hundred years or so. there's no coming back from people embracing race wars and generalizing each other as "ally" or "enemy" without so much as a second thought. it really only gets worse from here, so buckle up.
