I don't really focus on these charts and sales thing but wouldn't it be weird if a song charts poorly but sells well or vice versa?

It's not about doing poorly on either album sales or charts, but which is more important to you atm

like if you had to choose, would you prefer your bias to chart well or to improve their physical sales

Chart better.

That means their song is also loved by people who understands the lyrics better. So the song is not only enjoyed because of its melody but of its lyrics (that may have double meaningshoplz.png ) as well.

They are also people who qualify to claim whether a song is good or bad, unlike ifans that can't understand an ounce of Korean yet questions the song's quality.

If Twice charts any better we will end up with another Cheer Up or TT, which if it transfers internationally will lead to even more sales. So logically I want to pick Charting. In terms of girl groups though Twice has enough physical sales to shock me for another several lifetimes especially for being in a time where the only reason to buy physical albums is as merchandise. So Charting it is.

This comment is sad.

It's unfortunate that fans of your favs don't take time and/or don't feel it's worth it to truly appreciate the music by learning lyrics.

Artist put alot of work creating and producing quality music.

Sales. More money equals more job security equals more comebacks.

Charting well is nice, but those digital downloads don't add up to that much, and since fans are the ones who buy physicals, I'd like for my biases to have more fans. More fans equals more concerts, equals more money, equals job security.

I think what the Op means is:

charts well: digitals

sells well: album sales.

So it is not really weird to chart poorly but sell well like boy groups with big fandoms (large album sales) but not so well public recognition (poor charting).
