ballet 293 Posted April 23, 2018 Share Posted April 23, 2018 My favorite jrock bands are easily ONE OK ROCK and Spyair. Their music is amazing! But I think their greatest appeal for me = the voices of their lead singers. Taka's singing has so much grit and emotion. I'm a sucker for husky voices like his. I've had the chance to hear him live at a concert and wowwwwwwwwwww First time I heard Ike's voice I was blown away!! Outside of these two groups though, I haven't been able to get into any other groups from casual browsing. I do like RADWIMPS because I went on a binge after watching Your Name, lol, but I think I like their slower songs more than their rock stuff. Which other artists should I check out? THE ORAL CIGARETTES and frederic are already mentioned, they all belong to ONE OK ROCK's old label A-Sketch. tricot and Polkadot Stingray are great female (or female fronted) bands. Here are a couple more: The Winking Owl Touch my Secret A lot of my faves either don't have music content on Youtube in my country (HITORIE, Sakanaction, Ame no Parade, Awesome City Club) or is limited (UNISON SQUARE GARDEN). You may have just turned me onto Sleepwalkers. whoa. I'm really digging hearing both male and female voices and their songs are bomb. Is it worth going through all of A-Sketch's artists? I thought the winking owls was a western band at first. Also WHO IS THAT GUITARIST that riff in the middle was insane I'm...not as big a fan of touch my secret's singer voice. Bummer because the music is great Yeah I struggled to find access to Spyair on Youtube too :( Where do you listen to their music if not youtube? (Oh hey they signed Mayday! I can give you some recommendations if you want as well. I wonder how they decide who gets blocked. There's probably a legitimate reason but it's so inconvenient when I'm trying to discover groups...
