Friend that loves attention - should I say something?

I have a friend that loves attention, to get this she pretends to cry or be mad – and the game is that the other person doesn’t know if its for real or just fake. We are both in our early 20’s and I find this behavior immature and childish. I have never experienced her doing this on me - until today - when she did it on me and a guy friend. She has done this to him many times and puts him in a stressed situation. I just went like WTF and tried to apologize but she just sat there with a half-smile, ignoring me while saying in a patronizing voice “That’s what happens when you guys are mean to meâ€.

Before I was afraid to be cross with her because I felt she was my entry to a social group. But I have found out that I truly just appreciate the one guy and now I have no trouble contacting him myself, so I was comfortable to joke around with her (she does it to me all the time) and the guy kind of just went along with the joke and she got "mad?" - started walking away, ignoring us??

I tried to apologize to her, but she sat there kind of smirking – so I got irritated and went and sat with this other girl – not giving her attention.??? I guess if you don’t want to lose her approval this is her way of manipulation people? Idk. I just don’t want to put up with such childish behavior.

ok so like imma sound really weird here buttttt in general that's a sign of childhood trauma right? The mainpulation, infantilization...smth is NOT right with her.

You got a point there. That's how children act when they want to get attention... omg
